I found this place when i googled German places to eat in Berlin, We decided to book here on the Friday for my 40th. So glad we did! The staff are very friendly, speak English and have menus in English. This is truly a amazing experience of German food and drink. On Friday i had Beef roulade 'Elephant' Large cattle roulade filled with fresh bacon and gherkin, served with red cabbage and potato dumplings, The plate came out very well presented and was full of flavour look out for the carrot shaped Elephant. They allowed me to sample some wine before buying a bottle, I picked the Riesling which was so lovely. My friend had Berlin liver, calf's liver with apples and onions, with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, He loved his. The bill was cheap for this amazing meal and drinks €44.30, We left €50 to cover tip.
On Sunday night another friend had joined us so we decided to go back here for another meal, This time i had Schnitzel Holsteiner style with 2 fried eggs and fresh fried potatoes this came with a side salad plus we had 3 of there potato dumplings which i can highly recommend at €1 each. We decided to stay here for the evening and was not rushed we enjoyed our food laughed with the staff and did tones of shots (even had some free). Our bill for 3 of us with drinks and one dessert (mains so filling) was €93.40 this time we left a bigger tip. If you are looking for German food and drink and a good time then you should book here. Its not expensive and the staff are very polite. Thank you to all the staff at Restaurant Elefant for making my 40th birthday weekend amazing i will be...
Read moreA Fantastic German Dining Experience at Elefant
During our stay in Berlin, the hotel reception at Riu Plaza Berlin recommended Elefant, and we couldn’t have been happier with the suggestion. Just a short walk from our hotel, this restaurant turned out to be a true gem for authentic German cuisine.
The food was absolutely fantastic! Each dish was meticulously prepared, with rich flavors and perfectly balanced sauces that truly showcased the best of German culinary tradition. Every bite was a delight, making it clear that a lot of care and expertise went into crafting each meal.
What made our experience even more special was the warm hospitality. Despite the restaurant being fully booked on a busy Friday evening, the owner went out of his way to find us a table—a gesture we truly appreciated. We were so impressed that we decided to return two days later to enjoy the experience all over again.
And of course, no German meal is complete without a great beer! The selection here was top-notch, and the beer they offered us perfectly complemented the dishes.
Elefant is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience of German hospitality, tradition, and fantastic food. If you’re in Berlin and looking for an outstanding meal, this place is a must-visit. Highly...
Read moreWe stopped by Elefant during the buzz of LesBiSchwule Stadfest. My partner had reserved a table for us, but the reservation was marked nowhere by the staff. Fortunately a table was procured for us still. For food we ordered Hawaiian Schnitzel and Spaghetti bolognese. Both dishes lacked flavor. The pasta in particular had no taste at all. Tragicomically the schnitzel came with a single sliver of paprika as the ”salad portion”. The size had gone down from the past years by far. We mentioned the low quality of the food for the waitress who came to pick up the dishes. This lead to every waiter avoiding eyecontact with us and we eventually had to wait for nearly half an hour before a second waiter came around and finally the bill as well. Naturally it was a very busy time for the restaurant, but it doesn’t excuse the lack of flavor nor blunt customer service. All in all there was very little positive to be had here aside for the location. Oh and Fanta was the highlight...
