Osteria Ribaltone — Restaurant in Berlin

This restaurant does not deserve even a one star rating. We made a reservation at 7.30 for a table at 9pm. We arrived punctually and were left waiting for fifteen minutes - they had not bothered to record the reservation. A table became available and we were asked to wait while it was cleared. No apologies, nothing. Then another customer appears - presumably a regular - and they are given our table. We remind the manager that we have a reservation and he has promised to give us the table. He starts shouting at us. A place like this has rats in the kitchen and probably does not abide by basic safety rules. You will receive privilege of abuse for showing up on time. I got one have never been as badly treated - ever - not even in the most pict rat infested dives in Gerard Street where bad service is a kind of badge of honour. Avoid it and join the fight against over entitled, shockingly rude...

Wir waren hier mit mehreren Leuten essen. Von außen sieht das Restaurant aus wie eine billige Kneipe, hat sogar noch den "Corona-Vorhang" mit Maskenpflicht-Symbol dran. Nicht sehr einladend. Im Inneren erwartet einen ein sehr kleines Lokal, das vollgestellt ist mit Stühlen und Tischen, obwohl der Platz offensichtlich nicht da ist. Darüber hinaus hängen an den Wänden wahllos alte Fahrräder, Motorräder mit Italienbezug aber gleichzeitig auch querbeet jeder andere Kram. Es wirkt sehr konzeptlos und auch nicht schön eingerichtet, eher wie ein Kramladen. Jedenfalls gab es am Tisch kaum Platz, alles war eng und unbequem. Jeder Gang zur Toilette, die auch sehr eng und dreckig war, sollte gut überlegt sein. Der Bestellvorgang lief sehr unprofessionell ab - keinem der Gäste an unserem Tisch wurde eine Karte ausgehändigt, lediglich in gebrochenem Deutsch eine "spezielle Karte" vorgelesen. Dass das die einzige Möglichkeit war, sich ein Gericht auszusuchen, wurde vorher nicht kommuniziert. Immerhin wollte ich kein "spezielles Gericht". Ich habe sowas auch noch in keinem Restaurant erlebt. Weder hatte ich ein Gericht vor Augen noch wurden Preise auf irgendeine Art und Weise kommuniziert und dargestellt (ganz egal, ob der Gastgeber zahlt oder nicht). Als Gast will ich wissen, was ich bekomme - und das nachvollziehbar. Bei meiner vorherigen Recherche war ich zum Glück auf eine alte Speisekarte mit saftigen Preisen gestoßen. Diese werden inzwischen jedoch noch höher sein. Das Essen, Pasta, war zwar grundsätzlich in Ordnung, allerdings mit 17 €(+) ziemlich happig. Aufgrund der Unprofessionalität und dem Gesamteindruck dieses Lokals ist der Preis des Essens jedoch im Anbetracht der Umstände nicht in Ordnung. Da bekomme ich in anderen Läden ein ordentliches Ambiente und keine Stadionatmosphäre aufgrund von Lautstärke anderer Gäste geboten. Insgesamt empfand ich den Abend als sehr anstrengend und würde hier definitiv nicht erneut essen gehen. Für mich muss Essengehen eine angenehme, entspannte Atmosphäre erzeugen. Gleichzeitig ist eine Karte in der Hand des Kunden...

Unfortunately the meatballs we had with our pasta (which was very salty) were only half cooked and visibly still raw. When mentioned to the server they said it shouldn’t be like that but instead of apologising or offering replacement ones he just tried to justify it instead and said this happens with meatballs.

We were told we had the table for an hour when we arrived. We asked for the bill twice and after waiting for 15 minutes the manager came and just pointed at his watch indicating we had to leave and rushing us out while we were still waiting to pay.

All in all a disappointing experience especially when it is very expensive considering the standard of food...
