The place is definitely worth a visit, although it's somehow hidden near the river. The interior looks cozy, nice but not so spacious. But I did not mind that. I ordered batch brew (filtered coffee) for myself and a latte for my girlfriend. You need to pay by card and in advance. I paid around €7,5 and left them additional €2 as a tip. The latte looked great and tasted great. But instead of filtered coffee I received a cup with spilt coffee and full of coffee grounds. At first I thought it is some kind of spices but then I found out it is badly filtered and I decided to return it. The girl behind the coffee machine who prepared me this cup didn't want to talk to me so I talked to her colleague who was really sorry for that, kept apologising to me and offered me espresso doppio instead. I gladly accepted that. The girl then started to be annoyed. From my point of view it looked like she did not want to admit that she made a mistake. She talked to her colleague in German, I only understood a few words, but it was really uncomfortable, since she looked really upset and I could not be part of that conversation. And this is the reason I have to give this place only two stars. I used to work as a barista also and no matter what happened in my personal life or what my mood was, I always tried to never let it impact my performance in the café, nor my behaviour...

What was once a cute cozy charming cafe had an influx of patrons, seemingly mostly tourists, over winter/spring 2025, meaning you could never find a seat because it was full. Due to this, some locals stopped going so frequently.
To solve this problem, it seems they have taken over the space the pizza shop used to be in. But by doing this, they've lost the cute, cozy, charm of the original space. It's become a sterilized, corporate, bland, gentrified hipster cafe for yuppie tech/finance bros in suits and dress shirts to sit on their laptops while they work, the sound of Microsoft Teams notifications filling the air. The space is insanely large, tables spaced far apart, and the human scale is lost. It is no longer cozy, creative, cute, or charming. It feels as sterile as the pizza place it used to be. The lovely workers are still there though, and there are still plants, and the same mediocre, but good enough coffee drinks for an okay price.
But in my opinion, the old space simply needed more overflow space, not to be uprooted completely. Or perhaps the old space can be opened as an overflow space for the current shop for the locals who miss it, so long as they bring their dishes back to the main room? idk what the solution is, but I do know I don't feel like going...
Read moreA hidden place in Berlin. It's an alley where there's a little bar, a theater and a few other things. It's not a place you would easily come across as a tourist but it's worth checking out. From the outside you have to pay attention to where the door is. Look for the green terrace. This store sells coffee, some tasty things to go with the coffee and plants.
The design of this place is nicely done. A lot of standing and holding is used. Besides that, earth tones are used inside the store which is nice with the green of the plants. There are some murals and so are plates everywhere.
The staff is friendly and also speaks English. They are also well trained baristas. It's a small place and you have to get your coffee at the bar. You can then find your place in the establishment.
We had ordered an iced coffee and a flat white and a brownie. The ratio of the drinks was good and there was a good taste to it. The brownie was really good. Good chocolate flavor but still nice and soft inside.
For the rest, there was no music played inside the restaurant.
All in all, a super nice hidden joint where you can get great coffee and...
