Awful service!! Impatient waitress (German speaking, dark hair), unable to communicate a single right word in English!! although she pretended she could. We couldn't understand anything. She seemed almost afraid of tourists. Too shy? Too unqualified perhaps? She turned her shyness into rudeness to cover up her ignorance, instead of trying with a smile. Why on Earth do these people work in this field? They must certainly be absolute incompetent in all other fields.....

Read moreGot an unpleasant experience from this restaurant due to the unprofessionalism and unfriendliness of the waiter... after a long train journey from Krakow, I wanted to sit in a cozy corner and eat a delicious German dinner. Instead, when there were free tables in the back of the room, the waitress seated me at the worst table near the front door, where everyone who comes in or out will look into my plate and shake raindrops into my soup... I wanted to spend 30-40€ for a delicious dinner in this restaurant, but after such a reception, I'll go get some street smitt for €10, they'll at least smile...
Read moreI lived in W.Germany for 20 years. (Berlin pre unification also) Came over to Berlin with friends and family. They wanted sight seeing and Touristy things, I wanted traditional German. Spotted Zum Paddenwirt from across the traffic lights. "There, there we'll go. I bet they'll be drinking with us before we leave". Half way through our first beer, the general consensus was, 'Cat hair place don't eat here'. - How very wrong they were. Up there with the best times in Berlin. Great food all round. Service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely be back. Yes, we all had a drink together...
