five years ago i gave you five stars, today i came to change my review to one.
having a cranky mood, i decided to treat myself to some proper food. ordered for 70€ on wolt. invited a neighbor over.
asked in the comments to not put onion and coriander on the (9€) salad - got just tomatoes and cucumbers, absolutely tasteless, without even oil or salt or ANYTHING. knowing and loving georgian culture and cousine, i took it as a big offense. it is a real shame that your chef decided to send this salad out in such condition. there was no love and it was a choice, not an accident. needless to mention that quality of those vegetables was so poor, it made me really wonder how can such tasteless tomatoes exist at all in the month of august.
my disappointment didn‘t end there unfortunately-khatschapuri was small and thin, for the price of 16€ one can get a decent neapolitan pizza with a bunch of different delicious ingredients on top. i‘m sure their products cost not more than yours. it is again a choice.
and the chicken was SO SMALL for 22,50, it made me laugh in disbelief. also lacking salt and love. again.
i would like to kindly remind you that not every food is love, but georgian is. and food that is made without love out of the cheapest ingredients is anything else but georgian.
i’ve recommended you to so many friends over the years, i feel ashamed now and will definitely have to take my recent recommendations back.
never again.
p.s. wish i could give you zero stars, just like my impression of tonight‘s 70€ dinner. but wine was alright, so at least for that - a well...
Read moreThis was the absolute worst and most shocking experience I have ever had in a restaurant.
Our server accused us of deliberately ordering portions that were too big and then charged us the price of 3x grill platters despite the menu explicitly saying that the price of one grill platter was 39,50 for 2 people and any additional person pays 20,50.
When we complained she tells us it is our mistake and then brings over the manager who not only accuses us of being racist when one of us explains to him the problem,(because he misunderstood that she was speaking slowly in order to be heard over the noise in the restaurant) but has the audacity to begin to lecture us on how we should have known how big the plates were and that we should have said something earlier; to which we responded this was our first time at his restaurant so we had no idea what the portion sizes looked like. He changes the price reluctantly and says we should leave our already packed doggie bags of food behind.
As we leave, he singles out one of us in the restaurant and shouts at her in front of all his guests about our apparent bad behaviour. He then follows her outside and in an intimidating and threatening manner continues to scream while other guests look on and are shocked.
The food is good but the abhorrent behaviour of the owner and staff have certainly left a bad taste in my mouth and I would never recommend this...
Read moreWe had a really bad experience at Tbilisi restaurant for our wedding anniversary . We found a long hair inside our starter (Hachipuri spinat ). We mentionned it to our waiter who looks shocked and give us short excuse . We then wait approximately one hour in between the starter and the main dishes. When it finally came , the meat was dry and not well cooked... Plus , surprise number 2 , a big hair again in my main dishes ... we then decide to pay and to leave and we will probably never come back here . The staff obviously saw we were disappointed after our remark and as we leave the table in the middle of our dish. We went directly to the bar for paying , and they didn’t ask or suggest anything to solve the situation , just took our money . Waiters are nice , wine is ok , but 2 hairs in 2 différents dishes are unacceptable.S**t can happen but the minimum is at least to apologize or to make a commercial gesture , but unfortunately it was not the case here. It’s a shame because Georgian food culture and hospitality are know everywhere in the world , but you will definetely not...
