Pension Michael — Hotel in Berlin

I stayed here for a full two weeks in Sept. 2012. Positives include: 1. Location- there are lots of cafes, bars, bakeries, quick stop mini-groceries nearby. There's also a large movie theatre & a shopping mall a few blocks away. Right across the street is Mauer Park, which has walking paths, playgrounds, and a super flea market each & every Sunday. 2. Decor- the interior of the building is painted in sunny colors and has lots of charming Asian touches. 3. Amenities - my room had a fully stocked kitchenette,even wine glasses. The bed had a good quality, comfortable mattress. 4. Cleanliness - totally clean & fresh smelling. 5. Management - I had good communication while booking & trying to find the place. When I needed anything it was promptly taken care of. The only negative was that when the weather changed suddenly the room was chilly, & there's no way to control the heat, as it comes on automatically only when the outside temp. drops. We stayed here for 4 nights in April 2015. It had been booked by our friends who came with us, on recommendation. When I read the reviews, my heart sank but I was worrying unnecessarily.||The room was comfortable and clean and included a small kitchen. I slept well every night which is unusual. It was in a very quiet residential area, very close to the Mauer Park on the site of the Wall. The bedroom was ok, but if you are staying for several days,- we stayed one week- the place becomes stifling. There is no wifi, and no reception. The shutters didn't work properly, the owner said he would come next day to fix it but he didn't. He didn't even reply to our messages: The last day we asked him if we could leave our luggage somewhere in the pension, since our flight was late in the evening and he refused.
