Van-Long — Restaurant in Berlin

We went for a late dinner at almost 9 pm, when the restaurant was listed to close, but they were good enough to serve the four of us. We were sure lucky they did, because the food was fantastic. We had the Summer and Hanoi rolls to start, and both were delicious. We then had the Pho Bo Special, the Tofu Cococunt (with veggies and rice) and the Bun Bo Nam Bo (stir-fried beef with rice noodles, lettuce, peanuts, etc.) and all were really good. The waiter was lovely and super attentive. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated, and the prices are quite good for the centre of Berlin. Very tasty Tomyam soup! It’s so balanced between sour and hot. I think this is one of my top Tom yam soup experiences. Nasi goreng was good too. Enough amount of seafood and chicken. I want to share with my baby so asked them no spicy. It was still taste good. My brother got pad thai. He said noodles were pretty soggy but it was okay. He packed Nasigoreng(spicy) for to go. Wer leckere Speisen aus fernen Ländern mag und die süd-ost-asiatische Küche schätzt, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Gerichte mit Huhn, Ente, Schwein, Rind und Fisch. Reis, Nudeln. Diverse Vorspeisen, Salate und Suppen runden die, optisch einfach gehaltene, Karte ab. Vegan wird fast jedes Gericht ebenfalls angeboten. Getränkevariationen gibt es wie überall in einer großen Auswahl. Auf einer "Schärfevertragenskala" liege ich erwa bei einer 7 von 10. Ich mag und vertrag Schärfe ganz gut. Das Essen bei Van-Long bewerte ich beim Schärgegrad mit 5 von 10. Schärfe ist da. Hin und wieder musste ein Schluck Kaltgetränk zugeschüttet werden. Alles in allem normale, mitteleuropäische Schärfe. Der Geschmack ist gut, man schmeckt Gewürze, frisches Gemüse und Fleisch heraus. Ebenso scheint hier der Respekt vor Lebensmittel noch vorhanden zu sein. Auf die Gefahr jetzt total daneben zu liegen, sag ich mal, es ist ein Familienbetrieb in dem Vater und Mutter am Wok stehen und die Tochtef den Service meistert. Einen halben Punkt hätte ich für fehlendes Handwaschwasser gegeben. Doch einerseits bat die junge Bedienung um Verzeihung und beteuerte, die fehlende Batterie sofort zu ersetzen.
