Murphy’s Irish Pub — Restaurant in Berlin

I am writing this review to express my disappointment and frustration regarding an incident that occurred at your establishment, the so-called Irish pub in Berlin, on a recent Sunday night.

A group of six Irish individuals, consisting of three couples, arrived at your pub at approximately 10:50 PM, hoping to enjoy a drink in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. However, we were informed by your staff that you had already ceased serving for the night. While reluctantly accepting this information, we couldn't help but notice that the staff continued to serve full pitchers of drinks to other tables.

Confused and perplexed by this contradiction, we approached the manager to seek clarification. We questioned why we were denied the opportunity to have even one drink while the pub remained open until midnight. Unfortunately, we received no reasonable response or explanation from the manager; we were simply told that the service was not available to us.

It is important to note that none of us were intoxicated, aggressive, or disrespectful in any way. We were merely seeking to enjoy a drink and unwind before the end of the evening. However, it seems that our Irish heritage somehow singled us out as unworthy of your service.

As individuals who value inclusivity and openness, we find this discrimination based on nationality deeply troubling. It goes against the principles of hospitality and customer service that we expect from an establishment like yours.

We hope that you will take our complaint seriously and address the unfortunate incident that occurred. It is our sincere hope that steps will be taken to ensure that all customers are treated equally and that discriminatory practices are eradicated from your establishment.

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. American here, and I don’t normally post reviews, but had an experience that was worth posting about. Came in for a late lunch, and sat at the bar. A fair amount of people were sitting outside by the river, but only a handful of people inside. Took awhile for the bartender to acknowledge me. I wanted to order a beer and a burger. He takes 10 minutes to put the order in. Instead fills drinks orders that came in after I put my order in. Several minutes after that, they find out they are out of burger patties. Order the Chili con Carne (okay, at best). Takes 20 minutes to come out. People at tables come up to order at the bar, as the servers are not helping them out. I ask to pay my check. I place 50 Euros in front of me. The bartender says to wait. Fills more drink orders as they come in. A customer comes in to order a drink at the bar. Bartender thinks the 50 Euros was his. Um, no, it was to pay for my order. Bartender give the customer his drink, then goes back to fill other drink orders. 10 minutes goes by. I’ve been right in front of him the whole time. I ask again if I can pay, he apologies for completely forgetting - then goes to get a receipt. He asks, “paying by cash?” I look at the 50 Euros, “yes…yes I am.”

Overall, terrible, terrible service. Food isn’t good either. Will not come back again. There are other, much better, riverfront restaurants...

We went to Murphys yesterday . The food was so bad that I wouldn't even consider giving it to my Dog . This was the most disappointing place I have visited in Berlin .

Warning : DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!! Drinks only from the bottle due to the fact we received dirty glasses when our drinks came to the table .

We could here the food being microwaved from where we were sitting . The food was some of the worst I have seen 40 years of travel.

The staff at the restaurant were very nice and very friendly . This is why we were so disappointed. Good people deserve to be treated well . We did not take our disappointment on the staff . Obviously whoever is running the place is doing his or her staff a great disservice by serving its patrons dog food . To the staff . Thank you again for being so kind! Hopefully your boss will get his head out of his you know what and start taking care of his people !
