Vesuvio — Restaurant in Berlin

I went there for the second time and it was a great lunch. The waiters are some of the friendliest and comforting I ever experienced. Even when I came here a year ago with some friends (10th grade). The atmosphere is also recommendable. Outside you sit on the "Strausberger Platz" with a nice view on the "Plattenbauten" (Beautiful buildings where Parades of the DDR took place)of the former Stalinallee. The inside is decorated in an Italian style, with wine shelves and pictures of the vesuv. The food was great, I enjoyed fish, pasta and soup, but the best part is, that you can see how the pizza is made and from my seat I could even see inside the kitchen (looked clean and the chefs seemed skilled)

I was there last Friday. The place is cosy, well decorated and served by real Italian people. The melon with prosciutto was served with butter. New for me. I tried and I didnt like it. The melon needed more time, it was a bit raw. It is usually my favourite starter but this time in this restaurant was not the best. The vitello tonnato: my bf asked for it and he just said: I have tried better. However, the main courses and the dessert were amazing. The pasta with shrimps and salmon cooked with fine herbs were delicious. After dinner we asked the staff to call us a taxi, they did. But we didn't like it that they asked us to wait outside...

Food is okay, service was bad. When we left we had to squeeze by other patrons in a shouting match with the owner. Also, apparently this establishment thinks that honest reviews are defamation so take the review score with a grain of salt. My girlfriend posted a review with two stars and the same comment as I listed here at the start. Then the owner abused the reporting system to have the review taken down. Hence our score now is one star lower
