Yama Restaurant Sushi and Ramen — Restaurant in Berlin

I went last Friday with my wife, while the sushi was good a few things made me in the end give 3 stars.

Talking about the good things first.

The sushi was good and seemed really fresh. The vegetable gyoza was also really tasty.

The takoyaki was really good as well, but they could have added more octopus inside, it think it was not enough.

Everyone in the restaurant were really nice and giving a lot of attention to us. In the end we had a little chat and this was a nice thing from them.

What I didn't like

1. The long wait for eveything. During the whole mean we had to wait quite a bit for the things. Two beers took them nearly 15 minutes. There was a lot of delay to bring our food as well.

2. I ordered the TANTAN and for me it was missing flavour. I've tried others in Berlin and this is not really...

The food was pretty nice, but we came here in Berlin for a holiday’s week so we are foreigners. We are staying in a hotel so I said “when you are outside just send me a WhatsApp or call me, and I also put the +34 (number of my country) and obviously my number. We waited like 1 hour and the restaurant was literally at 5 min by foot from where we were. I made a call and they told me the delivery guy was in his way. I waited like 20 min more and called again, then the girl told me the delivery guy was there and I said send him back if you can... The guy arrives and tell me that he had call me before and I check it out and I din’t see any messages or calls so I don’t know. Then he didn’t return my 10 extra cents back and even ask about them... The food was very nice though, but I don’t think I’m gonna...

Finally nice veggie ramen right around the corner! The noodles have a nice bite and taste, very different to the way too common overcooked and bland ones in some other Japanese restaurants. I've been twice in a row and probably will be back tomorrow. At some point I'd appreciate another vegan / vegetarian broth but so far I'm super happy with the miso. Kaedama / extra noodles are 3.50 and very much worth it!

Edit: 5 years and many visits latter, it's still excellent and often the first stop after the airport to carb up. They've upgraded their noodle supplier a few years ago (?) and the Kubota Noodle's are easily in my top 5, just a perfect mix of springy and chewy. They've also added a...
