Viet Nam & Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Berlin

Don't fall for the fake reviews – the sushi are really bad. It's a Vietnamese place, not Japanese, and it has nothing to do with how sushi should be. Half of the menu is cooked fish (and there are even chicken sushi). Fish is reasonably fresh, but the rice is bad, they don't combine ingredients well, and overall it just doesn't work. The only sushi I liked was the eel nigiri, the rest was really disappointing. They try to make up for the taste with the presentation (liquid smoke), which if anything is only annoying because when it runs out, it starts fizzling and spattering on your food. The only good thing is the service: the people there were super nice...

This place is the best. They have the best soups ever. I have tried a lot of things on their menu and they all are great. I like the fact that they are super fast and consistent. Definitely go for sushi if you are here. Menu of the day are always nice and fairly priced. You're not supposed to call yourself a sushi bar if you have just 4 kinds of fish, not counting Tilapia and Surimi, the latter of which even makes it onto a sashimi plate. Yuck!

One star is harsh, but it's just not right that this place pops up with a 4.7 if you search for a sushi restaurant. There's a much better place just around the corner in Marienburger Straße, slightly more expensive but...
