ZAZZA Kaffeehaus — Restaurant in Berlin

This place used to be great, with super friendly staff and an amazing atmosphere, especially outside. I went there very often. Unfortunately things have changed lately and the last time I was there, it was extremely unpleasant. Before leaving I needed to use the bathroom, but I was not allowed to, because "the cleaning staff has already cleaned it and it should stay that way till tomorrow". When I complained, the two female employees didn't even try to be polite, instead just brushed me off with the answer "Boss's orders". At that time there were at least 6 more customers sitting outside drinking their coffee. I find it extremely rude and unprofessional, denying a customer, a recurring customer, the use of the bathroom. Maybe I just should have peed right in front of their counter after all that was said. I was here at the middle of August with a couple of friends and we all agreed that this is one of Berlins finest cafés. The owner is a really nice guy with respect for both the customer and his own enterprise, and takes pride in what he does. The coffee is really good as well as the cakes; and the seating outside, under the trees, especially at that time of year, was amazing. He (the owner) told me that a café is a place you should be able to come to, in order to relax and enjoy yourself, and if that is through reading a book while devouring a pice of splendid banana-cake, or, as in my case, sipp on a Cortado whilst talking to your friends, this is the place to come.

We had the worst Cafe experience here, please stay away from this bullying place. We went there with my friend, grabbed our coffees&something to eat and sat down. He had something very urgent to finish on his laptop so he opened it up while I was drinking my coffee. No later than 10 minutes after we sat, we were told that we cannot use laptops in the outside area. It was not like we were working there all day, we were just trying to finish a 15 min task while enjoying some coffee.
