Well Schlawinchen is a nice place but a have to put one star because of a very bad experience that I made the other day. The bar propose a "chrging service", meaning that they have all the cables for charging phones, which is quite practical if you are out during the undless berliner night. So as usual I was charging my phone. The barman was busy (not with customers but with just talking with the owner behind the bar) and even though he saw me waiting he kept talking like if I wasn't exisiting quite a long time. After a while I managed to interrupt them just to ask if I could take my phone, which was one meter away from me (usually they give the phone back themselves but as there were busy and I didn't wanted to bother them even if they were ignoring me). Very clearly he said yes so this is what I did but apparently the owner (who was right there as well) didn't get ot or had a different opinion pushed me back violently without to say anything. Obviously I didn't like it and I said that it was not ok and making no sense to do so. The barman became directly very loud and said thad I had to stick to the facts, which was making no sense at all neither in this context.
I wasn't drunk, I wasn't loud, I was just a regular there, like always and I have been very disappointed and quited shocked by their attitude on this day.
Not sure yet if I will be back there one day.
BTW there have been many other times when I saw other customers being treated with disrespect or unfairly in this place.
And you can't lock the bathroom (at least the...
Read moreGot my phone stolen immediately upon entering. I should have been more careful, and the interior is kinda cool so 2 stars.
Guy clocks on to me immediately upon entering starts asking me if I want cocaine and mostly making this buggy "coked out expression". I declined and then realized a couple minutes later my phone was gone (I know I had it because I used to navigate to the bar). Told the bartender that dude had taken my phone (or maybe one of his buddies helped out while he distracted me). She put her phone on the counter so I could call myself - my ringer was off so I knew it wouldn't help. The guy came back up making weird expressions and acted hurt and accused and then pulled out two phones - neither of which was mine. Bartender said that someone else had taken it (again - I had been in there 5 minutes and had interacted with zero other people)
Vibes were extremely off so I figured I'd cut my losses.
But yeah place is weird, and seems like wacky bad behavior is more than just a...
Read moreFor sure a special place. Decoratd with care and by unique mind. Berlin in a nutshell showing it's psyche. Jaded personalities that value strength by your repertee and roughness, avoiding to show fragility- judging fragility and softness. Taking dumbing substances for years might be a precondition of this state of unconsciousness. Sure, some are not like that- as always. Like the long bearded doorkeeper- who really seems to be the only sober and good hearted human working there. And maybe some female guests who are luckily not looking to get their thirsty egos pushed by compliments of some random (also thirsty) good looking narcisstic guy who can only pretend as if. But sadly- narcissistic people find their area and illusion of some sort of (what they call) happiness here. A place for the lost who identify with their victimhood sharing this...
