One night in Radisson Collection Berlin ✨ •Radisson Hotel Group has finally reopened its Radisson Collection Hotel Berlin, more than two years after the property was forced to close its doors. •Previously trading as the Radisson Blu Hotel Berlin, the 427-room property was rebranded under the Radisson Collection portfolio in early 2022 following a renovation project. •But in December of that year the hotel’s centrepiece AquaDom aquarium in its lobby area suddenly burst, pouring around a million litres of water and 1,500 fish into the hotel and the street. •#The hotel had remained closed since the incident, but reopened lately with a new ‘Living Tree’ installation replacing the aquarium. #radissoncollection #berlin #luxurystay #radisson #travelcontent

Nowhere near as good as the brand reputation and price would suggest. Things started well as they gave me a free upgrade to a king size bed. But the first thing I saw on the hotel room was no plugs by the bed! Maybe once upon a time that didn't matter, but now it's a necessity, and it seems this hotel hasn't got with the times. You would need at least a 3/4m cable to comfortably use your phone in bed whilst it was on charge. Absolutely ridiculous. The entrance is incredible with the fish tank there, but things like that don't make up for the necessities when in your room. The bathroom door is unnecessarily loud, and in general you can hear and feel other guests closing doors. I've felt and heard doors being closed through the wall and ceiling. Once whilst in bed a neighbouring guest closed a door and I felt the vibrations all through the wall. The shower was awful! It took a long time to get it to the right temperature, then sometimes the temp would change whilst showering. The shower pressure was really low too, not what I expect from German showers in general. The shower I had in a €28/night flat was way better than the one in Radisson Blu, in fact every other shower I've had in German hotels has been way better than this one. The hotel tv is stupid, not letting guests use the HDMI inputs on the TV is ridiculous! You will lose many of us new professionals who would assume we can use the TV as a monitor for use with our computers. The locks on the TV are stupid, and pointless as the instructions to circumvent these locks are widely available online. If this hotel was much cheaper or less well known I guess my review might be different, but this was far from the luxury that the brand seek to portray. But I don't think I'll be staying here again, despite the convenient location.

Every time I go to Berlin, I stay in this hotel. It in a prime location near the Museumsinsel (on the river spree) and Alexanderplatz. Public transportation is very near: U-Bahn, Tram (Lines M5 and M6), BUS (100, 200, TXL) and more. During my saty it was a bit crowded and the hotel was fully booked alongside some conferences and lots of tourists from around the world. You can use the new "Radison App" to chat with the hotel, and ask for early check-in or late check out etc. Using the App, Is a very good way to ask for things like an extra pillow, some tea, sugar, plates, more shampoo etc.. usualy they send someone within an hour, some cases less than 10 minutes (!). The service of the staff is always the best from my experience, and most of them speaks very good English. You have many services given by the hotel, including Laundry, Sauna, Concierge, Grab and Run, Free Wifi, 60 Channels on LED HD TV, safe deposits box and many many other. The breakfast is ecxellent! the varity is huge! The prices are ranging from 100 Euros to 500 Euros a night and even more, you should know that there is also Berlin City Tax (about 10-15 Euros per night per room). The main attraction is the huge aquarium as a part of "Sea Life", can bee seen when entering the hotel lobby and the galss lifts. No wonder why I keep make reservation everytime I think it is a good value for money, but sure it isn't come cheap!

I absolutely do not recommend this place if you have children under the age of 1.

Before I booked the raddison collection in Berlin I checked on their website to see if it was suitable for young children and if they have cotts available which it clearly states that they do.

When I made the booking through booking.com and selected that we have a child under 1 and that we require a crib for the baby.

When I arrived to the hotel the first thing I asked the receptionist was to double check they had a crib / baby bed available which she replied yes and that it was already set up in the room.

When I arrived to the room I found a pull out bed suitable for older children but not suitable at all for a baby as it has no sides.

I went back downstairs to the reception and spoke to a gentleman about the issue, I stated that I had asked for a crib when I made the booking as we have a young baby but it wasn't set up in the room. He told me they didn't have any and after phoning someone stated they don't offer cribs, he suggested I put some pillows around the baby to stop it from rolling out which is absolutely not an option. Despite me showing him the booking and stating that it says on their website he wasn't having any of it.

I then went and spoke to a different receptionist about the issue and she said yes that they do have baby beds available and she apologized for there not being one set up in the room. She made a phone call and assured that one would be brought up to the room shortly.

We went back upstairs and waited over an hour for someone to bring the crib up but nobody showed up, at this point we were late for a dinner reservation.

When I went back downstairs to speak to the receptionist she had gone and I spoke to the original receptionist, I explained the situation again and she promised that they would make sure they would bring up the baby bed to the room.

I said to her that I need to know if they don't have one because if they don't I would need to book a different hotel as what they had is not suitable for a baby of his age. She assured me that I didn't need to worry and guaranteed me 100% that when we returned it would be set up in the room.

At this point I was feeling stressed out with it being a Friday night and it would be difficult and expensive to find a suitable replacement hotel. Also the fact that I had been told conflicting pieces of information about if they actually had a bed or not was making stressed.

So we went for dinner later than expected and returned to hotel after the babies normal routined bed time around 22:00PM to find that nobody had brought a bed to the room at all.

At this point my partner and I are begining to freak out that we're going to have to find a different hotel at 10 in the evening as they don't seem to care about our situation.

I went back to the reception and at this point I was fairly unhappy, I spoke to one of the original receptionist who had previously told me they didn't have a cott in the hotel at all who then told me that they actually did have something after all.

But he then stated he was on his own and couldn't bring it for another 40 minutes!!!

I generally like to think of myself as a calm person but at this point I was absolutely furious, I couldn't trust anything he was saying at this point and I wasnt about to wait another 40 minutes to find out if they even had a bed after the way we had been treated this evening.

I phones booking.com to make a complaint and to find out what to do in this situation, my next plan was to find another hotel.

While I was waiting on the phone another 20 minutes or so I received a text from partner saying they had finally brought the bed up.

This eperience genuinely really upset me, I want able to sleep properly the whole as I still felt the anxiety of dealing with the situation. The whole point of staying in a hotel is to relax and sleep but this had the opposite effect on me.

I will not being staying in this...

This hotel is right across the street from a large park that was holding an event involving very loud music, including very loud base (thump, thump, thump) that could be heard in all of the rooms that were facing the front of the hotel, including the three that I and my companions were staying in.

While the hotel can't control what happens in the public park, the staff should have been aware of what was happening in their neighborhood, and let me know about it when I checked in. It would have been especially helpful to know the nature of the event (a planned concert, or an unplanned protest) and when the event was scheduled to end (which turned out to be 11:00 p.m.).

Instead, when I called the front desk to inquire, the staff stated that they knew nothing about it at all. As I could hear the thumping through the windows, they denied that it was even happening! In addition to the noise from any events, the police seem to routinely drive down that road with sirens blaring, even at 3:00 a.m., which woke me up several times during my stay.

Also, the AC doesn't seem to work to cool the rooms when the outside temperature is over 26C (80F). The front desk staff and maintenance staff seem to have no problem lying about the AC. They claim that it is working fine when the room is over 26C (the hallway is cooler). I know that they know what a room should feel like, as the hallways are the perfect temperature.

We have three rooms along this section, and two of them are way too hot. Even if the AC was working, nobody was able to sleep until the thump, thump, thump going on at the park across the street ended.

The hotel told me that they had reset the AC in my room, as part of that, they adjusted the thermostat so that the display lights stayed illuminated all of the time, but when I asked them to turn them off, they did so.

As others have reported, staff routinely allow themselves into rooms even when they are occupied, when do not disturb signs are posted, and when the deadbolt is engaged.

After I posted this review, two things happened. First, the hotel posted a response below, claiming that they couldn't figure out who I was (even though I have spoken with the front desk extensively). Second, they adjusted my thermostat again so that the lights stay on continuously even late at night. Previously, the lights would only illuminate for about 60 seconds after I made an adjustment. Now, they stay on, at full illumination, all the time. This isn't a problem during the day, but it lights up the room in a blue hue when the room is dark and made it exceptionally difficult to sleep. I called the front desk to ask them to turn it off again. They said that they would as before, but this time they didn't. I had to cover them with cardboard to...

Got a room that was quite far from the lift(lifts only on one side of the hotel), so quite the walk. Universe telling me I needed the exercise, haha. ||Penelope at the reception was very hospitable and helpful. (Give her a promotion already!!)||Rooms are not soundproof. Could hear almost every conversation and argument while walking past the rooms on the long walk to my room. ||Some of the rooms had the peephole placed mid way of the door, and I found this quite weird. ||Some really strange things about how the rooms are designed. It's not the best usage of space. I can't explain it in words. ||As for the room, the AC thermostat wasn't working properly, and there was no way to pin point accuracy as it was a manual knob system with a faulty light. So I can't really tell if it's just the thermostat or the AC also doesn't work properly. Room turned into a hot box on the first night. ||Had to call housekeeping, reception, and concierge (was later told the hotel doesn't have one, but the button is still available on the phone) atleast 9 to 10 times all together across an hour to just to get a response(needed a dental kit) The same phone doesn't have a speaker option, which is not the most convenient, especially when you're waiting for so long for someone to answer. Asked for a dental kit and vanity kit. Got the dental kit and 4 shower caps instead. ||Some Towels had a vinegar smell. Shower gel and shampoo smell like random chemicals mixed together. Even the toothpaste tasted like soap. Radisson pls change these and learn from the Bonvoy boys!! ||My shower had some sticky substance on the floor. Possibly from an earlier mat or one that woulve been used for a while. Didn't have the energy to address it considering my time spent trying to reach housekeeping for other things before this. ||Balcony didn't seem very sturdy or comforting the way its designed and laid out, or maybe that's just me. Great view, though. Can't beat that. ||Overall, it is a very aesthetic hotel, location is also great, but many things aren't very practical. If this was the case, I would've preferred one of those newage fancy service apartments that just met the minimum requirements. Dont recommend this to travellers who expect these finer details to be covered for convenience. ||And discord overall on the whole schbang despite very sweet staff and sincere efforts from what I could sense from the surface of things. ||Won't be staying again will probably have to do more homework next time im considering a Radisson Collection...
