Olivenzweig Restaurant — Restaurant in Bonn

Freshly opened in Bonn town where "Herr Lehmann" used to be, Olivenzweig is a promising new addition to the restaurant scene. Setup is rather classy, one can tell right away there was a lot of effort put in the selection of every item, from tables to chairs to glasses, etc. The terrace is still in the works and has not opened yet. Cuisine is Levant, the menu focuses on kebabs and appetizers, but doesn't fail to bring some fresh wind in the 'usual kebab selection', so there is some stuff to explore. I tried cherry kebab, and it was absolutely amazing. It's literally lamb kebab in cherry sauce - full recommendation for those who enjoy red meat with sweet sauces. Service staff seem to still need to find their groove. They were impeccable and zealous , but a bit too formal and uptight, which stiffens the general atmosphere a bit. PRO - The food is good. CONS- But the service is totally terrible. The personnel came very late after half an hour to take the order. Then they brought just bread from the starter while forgetting the dishes. On saying it , they said the kitchen is busy , however the restaurant was only 20% occupied at that time. Then they brought the starters after more than waiting of 45 mins. Immediately we ordered main course and after almost 50 mins more got to know they have forgotten or messed up. They didn't know at first and later told us that the kitchen threw away our order receipt in trash by mistake. So we said, we could pay and leave, but to get the bill also took forever. 2.5 hours of a series of mishaps after mishap! Didn't seem to be their day! No one seemed sorry for the problems though. Except the girl there at the counter who seemed very frustrated . The delay is not the matter, mistakes do happen but it is the lack of service that...

Ich war heute Abend mit meiner Frau das erste mal im "Olivenzweig" und wir sind beide begeistert. Als wir dort angekommen sind, wurden wir sehr freundlich und auch Herzlich willkommen geheißen, das man das Gefühl hatte bei Freunden zu besuch zu kommen. Wir haben uns einen Platz draußen auf der kleinen Terrasse ausgewählt und erst einmal eine Überraschung erlebt, da es hier eine Menükarte per QR-Code gibt, also Handy nicht vergessen. Also erst einmal mit dem Handy die Karte ausgewählt und haben uns für eine Vorspeise und ein Hauptgericht jeweils entschieden. Für meine Frau gab es als Vorspeise "Baba Ghanoush" für 7,90€ und als Hauptgericht "Kirsch Kebab" für 21,90€. Ich habe mich für "Souda (Gebratene Hähnchenleber)" für 8,90€ als Vorspeise entschieden und als Hauptspeise "Shish Tawook" für 17,90€. Nachdem wir bestellt hatten wurde uns auch schon frisches Brot gebracht, mit einer Kichererbsen Paste und einer Oliven Paste. Beides war auf jeden fall extrem lecker. Das Essen kam auch sehr schnell und hat uns Super geschmeckt, nur das es auch sehr reichlich war und wir es nicht alles geschafft haben. Aber auch das wurde vom Service wieder freundlich bemerkt und man hat und das "Baba Ghanoush" und Brot für zuhause eingepackt, zur Freude meiner Frau. Zum Abschluss gab es noch einen Tee und eine kleinen Nachtisch vom Haus aus und auch hier war alles ein Genuss.

Fazit: Wer gerne mal die Arabische Küche kosten möchte, der sollte ganz klar den "Olivenzweig" besuchen.

Super freundlicher und zuvorkommender Service. Erst Klassisches und frisches Essen. Gemütliches und sauberes Ambiente. Angemessene und Soziale Preise.
