Mezze&Liebe — Restaurant in Bremen

We noticed a Turkish cuisine spot inside the Markthalle and decided to give it a try. I ordered the tandır rollo with meze, and my husband had the meze kebab.

The tandır meat inside the rollo was delicious and quite filling even on its own, without the mezes. The same meat was used in the kebab plate as well.

The mezes weren’t bad in terms of taste, but with some improvement, they could be much better. Perhaps the variety of mezes could also be expanded a bit — well-known options like carrot tarator, stuffed grape leaves (yaprak sarma), atom, or köpoğlu were missing 😕

Mezze&Liebe is centrally situated in the Markthalle Acht, offering a good selection of mezze. The hummus was creamy and tasty, and the pulled beef was well-flavored, though not fall-apart tender. The aubergine paste lacked a smoky flavor and was overwhelmed by too much pepper/chili flakes. The bread was ordinary white bread; some flatbreads and more than just 2-3 small pieces would have been a great addition.

Am 28.05.2022 waren wir in der Markthalle 8 am Domshof beim Stand „Mezze&Liebe“ essen und haben beide das Rollo mit Rinderfleisch und jeweils 4 Mezze (Vorspeisen) dazu bestellt. Wir waren beide begeistert von dem zarten Fleisch des Rollos und den leckeren Vorspeisen /Mezze dazu (zB. Dattelfrischkäse, Hummus, Auberginenmus und Bulgursalat) Alles für 11 EUR pro Person und besser, als bei manch einem teuren Syrer in der Stadt! Dazu kommt, dass die Atmosphäre in der Markthalle 8 in Bremen wirklich gelungen ist und ein Aufenthalt ansich schon interessant ist.
