Fifth District — Restaurant in Bremen

FOOD & DRINKS I was so excited to get some Chinese BBQ in Bremen. It’s really a rare sight to see HK BBQ in Germany so my expectation was kinda very high. Unfortunately this food stall wasn’t able to meet my expectations. In my opinion the meat hasn’t marinated long enough for the marinade to penetrate deeper into the meat. Most pieces of meat were even pretty dry. Other than that I think the dish wasn’t bad.

SERVICE The young man behind the counter was friendly and nice.

ATMOSPHERE It is a food stall located in a very pretty and modern food hall. The food hall itself is very cool and an amazing place to hang out.

RATING I had this dish many times. From cheap places to mid range restaurants. If I had gotten juicier pieces of meat my rating would have been higher but in this case it was ok but nothing I would come back for unfortunately.

NOTE Thank you very much for the feedback on my review. When I come back to Bremen I am definitely willing to give it one more try and ask for the fattier parts. Most of the time I don't need to ask because the chef serves the plate in a way that I can enjoy different pieces. In this case I did not had one really...

The food had a fly, which was fried and obviously not something that happened after the food was cooked. When asked, The chef said it was something that happened after it was cooked and didn't apologize nor offered to cook it fresh again. Disappointing experience. The attitude and service was below par.

Update: The chef approached us and apologized and returned the money. My intention was not to punish the chef but to be more considerate about mistakes. We all make mistakes and the immediate action from the management is...

Ein mal durfte ich dort was essen. Hat mir eigentlich auch ganz gut geschmeckt. Als ich mit meinem Mann ein weiteres Mal dort bestellen wollte, saß ein älterer Herr hinterm Tresen und schaute uns an, als ob wir ihm sein gerade sein essen geklaut hätten. Kein Wort von ihm. Als wir sagten, dass wir gerne bestellen würden, knurrte er uns an, dass er gerade Pause macht. Ok, dann setz dich doch an einen der Tische und iss da, wenn du deine ruhe haben willst. Oder stell ein Schild hin; Pause von 14-14.30 Uhr, oder so ähnlich. Da war der Laden auch eigentlich schon durch bei mir. Heute wollte mein Mann aber doch mal das crying chicken probieren. Ich also wieder hin- keiner da. Nach etwa 15 Minuten kam der ältere Herr wieder. Kein hallo, kein Lächeln. Nur wieder ein Gesicht wie 7 Tage Regenwetter. Dann nickte er mir zu und wollte meine Bestellung aufnehmen. Ich fing gerade an zu sprechen, da unterbrach er mich und sagte, dass er aber keinen Reis mehr hätte. Müsste er erst kochen. Aha... warum er mich dann nach meiner Bestellung gefragt hat, weiß ich halt auch nicht. Alle Gerichte sind da ja schließlich mit Reis. Also, das wars jetzt auf jeden Fall für mich. Ich meine, wenn ich keine Lust auf meinen Job hab, dann such ich mir halt was anderes und geb die Ladenfläche da frei für jemanden, wo man auch was zu essen bekommt und im besten fall auch mal ein...
