Food mart at the high end
Based upon a concept quite common in Germany, Markthalle 8 aims to unite under one roof culinary specialties, authentic and imitated, of a variety of nations. As there seems to be no minimum standard of quality and appearance and unlimited creative freedom, the results are rather mixed. The palette ranges from Korean, Spanish and Ukrainian food prepared by Koreans, Spaniards and Ukrainians, via pizza prepared by anyone but Italians, to the current trend of vegetarian Levantine specialties. The operators of the stalls tend to come and go, so there are always new experiences to look forward to.
Beverages are available in a large variety.
Prices in general are not 'food stall prices' but rather higher, but fair.

It was quite crowded when we came here (it was Friday at noontime) and we were lucky to find a place to sit. I did not see a public toilet in...
Read moreI first visited the Markthalle back in 2023. Two friends and me, we all tried different stalls, they were all fantastic and reasonably priced.
More recently, I was looking for a venue for last-minute big-group booking. Most restaurants in the area are too small or too pricy, but Markthalle was very willing to book out a section of seating for us at no cost and on fairly short notice. The customer service is absolutely faultless! I look forward to trying more stalls on my next...
