Food: Ordered the Bánh Mì with beef, the coffee with ice and sweet potato fries.
• The bánh mì was very tasty. The bread just right when it comes to crust and softness and had a nice taste itself as well. It was filled with pulled beef and vegetables and a sauce that goes well with it. It was served in a small coloured basket with same colour tissues.
• The Coffee is delicious, absolute fan. It's a strong coffee with a very deep flavour. It doesn't hit you with the usual bitterness as it's mixed coconut milk. As someone who doesn't like the flavour of coconut that much: you can't really taste it but it does add to the overall flavour. The only bad part is the size of the drink. Could drink at least 3x the amount 😁 (not sure how good that would be for my heart).
• The sweet potato fries were also great. Afaik they're fried in duck oil which gives them a very strong, delicious taste. The sauce that came with it was also good but nothing too out of the ordinary.
All food was served fresh!
Service:
• Friendly staff and served our food well. No complaints at all here!
Location:
• The café is a bit hidden location-wise but it gives it a nice atmosphere. Especially recommended for people who don't like the usual crowded places.
• For me personally it gave a very welcoming and warm atmosphere as everything reminded me of my home town.
Definitely recommend this place. Ideal for a...
Read moreI came across this lovely little Vietnamese restaurant / café as I was making my way up towards the Neumarkt Square. And I ended up having a lovely evening meal there that same day. For my starter, I decided to go to for the Banh Mi Classic sandwich. The warm baguette was crunchy and light, exactly as expected, and the warm pork was very flavoursome! Along with the marinade, fresh carrot, other veggies and herbs, it made for a very clean and tasty sandwich...I really enjoyed it! For my main, I went for another Vietnamese classic, the Pho Bo, which is a broth based dish with rice noodles, beef, herbs, beansprouts, and chilli. Anyways, the broth itself was out of this world...I couldn't stop spooning it out of my bowl! The meat was melt in the mouth, the noodles were thick and al dente, and the herbs and chilli packed the dish with even more flavour! So, if you love your Vietnamese cuisine, you need to go to this establishment! I cannot praise it enough...if I could, I'd give it 6 stars! ;D Friendly and...
Read moreThe seasoning on the batter was right, and the texture made the sweet potato tempura especially appetizing. While it’s not the delicate, flower-like style of Japanese tempura, I was surprised that they are making this sweet potato fries different other places.
I’ve visited this restaurant about four times now. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of their pho. It’s not spicy, and additional garnishes like lime or chili aren’t offered separately—instead, everything including herbs and bean sprouts comes pre-mixed in the bowl. (which is not uncommon!)
In beef pho, the doneness of the meat is crucial. If it had been exceptionally tender or memorable, I’d recall it more clearly—but I guess the meat was not particularly on the tender side.
I think I’d be most satisfied if the amount of herbs and bean sprouts were doubled, and if lime and chili were served on the side. The portion size is not too much, but it wasn’t a bad bowl of pho by any means. I’d still recommend it to...
