staff didnt know where the wine are being kept, boss isnt around - am blaming the boss for not training the staff properly, we could have drank more that evening. waited 2 hours for our steak. tables that arrived an hour after us got their food before us and that shows me that our orders has been forgotten. (we did get a free bottle of red, once again your lost) 3.totally under staff on a full night, staff were under stress and struggling to cope (i hope the owner treats them well and pays them properly for the hardwork, they were all over the place and i have been observing them since its 120mins before our food arrived - yes i timed) since our orders as been forgotten and the kitchen has rushed our steaks you could imagine the quality of our food that night - the exterior isnt being seared let alone being done properly, we had a rare, med rare, med plus which turns out to be rare, med plus on the outside - med rare as we get along - rare as we get closer to the (t)bone - blue as we get to the bone as expected. and med plus turns out to be done. very disappointing considering the price you are asking per dry age steak. if you ever consider ordering appetizers my advice is - dont. it is not worth paying for, just a few fried items with various mini dips. attempts on clearing the plates were fast - even when i m struggling to slice the blue part of my supposed med rare steak. the bill came even faster, if only our orders of wine and steaks has this level of efficiency.
we dont mind waiting for our food, if its being done properly but sad to say it wasnt. i m not blaming the staffs for it is obvious how pack the place is and how your staffs were struggling - speaking of staff - the lady that served us she has been really professional keeping a smily face and apologises upon receiving my sarcastic comments (hunger) - total respect for being able to put up with me in such situation (i did apologised for my behaviour after).
we did have an enjoyable evening because we were with right company, wish i could say better things with the food. might change this negative comments in future if we ever decide to give it...
Read moreVisiting köln I decided to go to this place on the strength of a colleague recommendation. I had a steak, salad and fries. . Fairly standard stuff for a steak place.. The food was good. Unfortunately, this was let down by the awful service. The glass of wine I ordered was clearly off and tasted like vinegar. I asked what else they had.. the first waitress argued and said "we only have one bottle open its fine".. literally shoving it back towards me on the table.. I then said, "I'm sorry. . It's not right for me... do u have anything else ".. waitress :"no"... pushes glass back towards me.. "ill just leave it then and have a glass of water".. waitress storms off leaving rancid wine on table. . Another waiter appears.. with a giant bottle of wine and pours me another glass saying "there.. this is just open... try it".. This new glass was ok and I said so.. he wanders off leaving me to enjoy the rest of my meal. The restaurant then fills up quickly (this is only 7.30pm so if you're planning to go, go early).. from this point on, the staff lavish attention on regulars and I, like numerous other tables, are virtually ignored. So.. the food is good, the wine unreliable and the staff need training in service skills. If you're considering visiting Köln though please don't let my review put you off.. Read moreI recently contacted this restaurant to make a dinner reservation, and unfortunately, the interaction with the person who answered the phone was far from satisfactory. Before I could even finish inquiring about availability, he abruptly interrupted me, expressing something like "we do it when we want" with a notable level of aggression. While it's possible there was a misunderstanding, such a reaction towards a potential guest is disconcerting and raises concerns about the hospitality standards of the establishment. The call was connected to Bluetooth in my car, and my friends were able to hear the exchange as well. Given the multitude of dining options in Köln, we have decided to take our business elsewhere.
I hope that the management addresses such interactions as Colina has become a go-to of mine. If the person who answered the phone is experiencing a challenging day, I genuinely wish him...
