Best Indian food in Köln hands downnn! A must visit if you're anywhere near here. A little about them.. A visit to eatDOORI is like a quick trip to India, full of unique impressions and tasty experiences. In our restaurant at the Hohenzollernring you will be greeted directly by a shining Namaste. The ambience quotes the Indian jungle and creates a feel-good atmosphere next to monkeys and tigers. It's a bit noisy, there's a buzz of activity and through the open kitchen windows you can watch our chefs picking the skewers with vegetables or marinated chicken tikka from the tandoori oven, baking fresh naan bread or a fire Celebrate show at the stove with homemade curries. The eatDOORI is the epitome of living India! In combination with modern elements in urban industrial design, we want to create a place for young and old, where you can enjoy the Indian hospitality together with a delicious Lassi. Our bar is the focal point of the room where you can try our Indian twisted cocktails. The idea for our Indian restaurant was born during a trip together: A visit to India was the crucial point to import the authentic Indian Street Food - together with the special atmosphere of the country - and to give it a modern twist. From this idea, a restaurant concept was created, which revives the adventurous, exciting and multi-faceted spirit of the Indian subcontinent in the...
Read moreThe staff was very unfriendly and rude. When I complain that the momos (starter) was not really delicious and i would like to cancle the main course then they said it is not possible, i said ok then you can bring the main course. I was talking in English, she (waiter) thought i could not understand German, and she said behindert, which we heard, and me and my daughter was angry on them and refuse the meal and wanted to leave, but the lady (waiter) said she will call the police if we will not pay for the main course, which was not even served, i refused that and said yes call the police. But she hasn’t called and i paid only for the drinks and momos. Because it wasn’t my fault, she was rude and insulted me. I don’t know how they run their restaurant and how they deal with their customers. It wasn’t accepted by me. I hope the owner will read my review and take an action against that lady. And i will not recommend any other people...
Read moreClassic Punjabi/north Indian dishes presented in a western style. The restaurant also offers upmarket version of certain Indian street food recipes, for example, quintessential Mumbai street food - Vada pav offered with beetroot chutney. The dishes are exquisite in taste - spicy but not too hot. The best restaurant if you want to introduce your non-Indian friends to Punjabi food before progressing to more authentic Indian food at other restaurants.
As an Indian, one of the best things about this restaurant is that you can have classic Punjabi dishes like Kadhai Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala etc. with naan bread wrap, instead of rice, which is how other Indian restaurants in Germany serve these dishes to their German (and Indian) patrons. Indians enjoy these dishes with roti or naan, not rice. So eatDOORI is a welcome exception in Germany.
Only downside, it is bit on the expensive side, though I feel the price...
