Amazing place for good food & Good music. the concert house situated on the edge of the park at the Venloer Straße, which was founded by the "Initiative Kölner Jazz Haus eV". It came into being in 1986 from the initiative of jazz-enthusiastic music students. It consists of a concert hall, a live club (Studio 672) and a café-restaurant. Attached are a beer garden and a garden restaurant. This is specifically for the burger and drinks trucks and not the restaurant itself, which is lovely. May 1st we arrived well before 2pm waiting on the burger truck opening, as it had been recommended to us. 2pm came, nothing. At 2.15 were told another 12 minutes. It didn't open until an hour later with staff inside taking an absolute age to open. Ny this time we are hungry, annoyed and almost going elsewhere. The staff also were being shown absolutely everything by one chef who was also taking orders, so everything took another age. It wasn't until 330pm we started to eat. Das Restaurant wurde von meiner Schwester ausgesucht als wir sie in Köln besuchten. Eine einfache, aber gemütliche Atmosphäre läd ein und die KellerInnen sind zuvorkommend und schnell zur Stelle. Die Bestellung läuft schön modern und digital. Ich mag sowas. Die direkt am Anfang bestellten Getränke ließen einen kurzen Moment auf sich warten, aber nicht schlimm. Das Essen dagegen war wirklich schnell zur Stelle und die Preise sind für 2024 wirklich gut. Manch einem mögen sie hoch vorkommen, aber ich empfinde sie als absolut angemessen und für die beim essen gebotene Qualität, sowohl beim Geschmack als auch bei der Präsentation, schon fast niedrig. Das Essen war excellent! Das kann man nicht anders ausdrücken. Es war sehr sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Es wurde für alle am Tisch quasi zeitgleich beliefert. Perfekt! Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, das meine ich aber positiv. Man konzentriert sich hier auf das was man am besten kann. Es gibt eine große Auswahl auch für Veganer und Vegetarier, aber auch Fleischliebhaber kommen absolut nicht zu kurz.

Der Haken: Da wir weder in Köln leben noch regelmäßig dort sind, kann ich nicht beurteilen ob das die Standardsituation ist, aber die Musik war sehr laut. Und ich meine sehr laut. So laut das eine normale Unterhaltung quasi unmöglich wurde zum Ende des Abends hin. Ich bin jetzt heiser und Spaß hat das nicht gemacht. Als wir ankamen war es laut aber nicht so laut, so das man sich noch halbwegs gut unterhalten konnte. Zum Ende hin, wie erwähnt, unmöglich. Mich hat wirklich gewundert das dies von niemandem verantwortlichen wahrgenommen wurde. Dafür, und nur dafür, gibt es einen Stern abzug. Ansonsten hätte der Stadtgarten sich die 5 Sterne...
