We finally had a chance to visit Milchmädchen😃 and it was absolutely worth the wait! The cakes were incredibly tasty, we tried four different ones between the two of us (including a cinnabon and a banana cake), and each one was a delight. You can really feel the high quality of the ingredients, and what impressed me the most was how light and balanced everything felt. Even after indulging in four cakes, we didn’t feel heavy or unwell at all, just happy and satisfied.
As someone who’s usually quite picky, especially when it comes to textures and sweetness levels, I was truly impressed. The cakes weren’t overly sugary, and the flavor combinations were thoughtful and harmonious. The banana cake, for example, had a wonderful balance and texture, soft: moist, and flavorful without being too rich.
The only thing that made us a bit sad is the very early closing time. The café closes at 6 PM, which makes it hard for us to visit. My husband usually gets home around 4:30 or 5 PM, and with a little baby, evenings are often the only time we can go out to relax. We had dreamed of coming here after a walk in the nearby garden, just to enjoy a coffee and a slice of cake in the peaceful evening atmosphere, but it’s never possible.
There was even one time we arrived about 30 minutes before closing, and the staff told us they had already cleaned the coffee machines and couldn’t serve us, which was really sad.
We truly hope the café will consider extending its hours until at least 8 PM. It’s such a lovely place with amazing food, and we’d love to become regular evening visitors if the opening...
Read moreI can only comment on the service as I had not made a reservation and could not get a table. I am sure the food must be good as the other reviews said, but the service is lacking. After being completely ignored upon arrival, zero eye contact from any of the staff, realizing this, I asked if someone could help seat us. After waiting another moment, a very annoyed young woman said she could not seat me, even though you could see empty tables, she didn’t even offer a waiting time. So I inquired, upon seeing 3 empty tables, “those aren’t free?” To which she annoyingly showed me her reservation tablet. I insisted if I could wait for a table to be available, and she pretty much rolled her eyes at me and said it would be at least half an hour. After clearly not being welcome at all, and irritated as I had brought my parents along and this is not the treatment one ever desires for their parents, I opted for leaving. All three members of their staff were rather unpleasant, all only offering smirks rather than polite service. Felt the need to share, as I do hope they improve. Some people travel from far to visit this...
Read moreOne thing is for sure, this place is always packed! As a walk-in you rarely get a place here. Be sure to make a reservation in advance! We were lucky to get a spot outside after a short wait. The food was presented nicely and taste was good as well. The coffee is very delicious. Unfortunately they seem to be constantly understaffed so we waited a long time for someone to take our orders. The ambiance is really nice and everything smells like their waffles. Recommended food: Croffle with egg salat, Laugen Bread with Salmon, any of their Cakes really and waffles (-) for the avocado toast it came on a thick slice of bread that you could not for the love of god cut with the knife because it was so hard All in all still a good...
