YOU SHOULD DROP EVERYTHING AND EAT HERE! Even just to try the traditional Saxon cake (Eierschecke).

I ordered the “small breakfast” and a slice of their famous homemade Eierschecke.

I’m glad I only got the small breakfast, because the cake was large and very filling. The taste reminded me of a dense angel food cake, but eggier, and you can choose from a number of fruit fillings (or the original recipe without filling).

The small breakfast included a bread roll, butter, a hard-boiled egg (cooked perfectly!), a plate with sliced wurst, cheese, cucumbers, melons, and cherry tomatoes, and a choice of coffee, tea, or cappuccino. You could also choose to have marmalade instead of the sliced cheese and wurst.

The menu was in both German and English, and allergens etc. were marked. The woman behind the counter was very pleasant and sweet. I would definitely come back next time I’m in Dresden.

Note that they do not accept...

I have been to this place twice, and for me, it’s an absolute must-visit if you are in Dresden or live here. It’s small – only about five tables inside – but that’s more than enough. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and instantly makes you feel at ease.

The interior has a charming rustic style with beautiful decorations that truly give off a Dresden vibe. The owner is an incredibly friendly man with a great sense of humor. He radiates warmth and kindness, and it’s easy to have a pleasant conversation with him – simply amazing, 10/10!

And now to the second best part – the cake. The Eierschecke is wonderfully fluffy, perfectly balanced in taste, and absolutely delightful. Every bite shows that this is a place made with love.

Keep up the great work, and...

We were glad that we found this hidden gem during our last day in Dresden. The lady staff who attended us during our visit was very polite & friendly. She even offered to help us to take photos. The foods were delicious and presentable. Make sure to make your reservation to avoid disappointment. We were lucky that we got seating but the others were not. The place was tiny and they have only one staff so it's understandable. The price was very reasonable. We had a great moment here. Ps. Visited at the end of May 2022 (recalled when browsing my photos album)

This place seems to be cash only but the coffee liqueur, coffee and Dresden cheesecake were delicious! The lady running the cafe is marvelous. She’s exceptionally nice and polite. We did not know it was cash only and she graciously asked us to come back next day to pay. We of course went to money exchange and tried to come back the same day but the cafe was closed. The cafe is really small so if you can try to get tables outside. If you are lucky you will meet some sparrows asking for cheesecake and they will take the cake off your fingers!
