On 21.06.2024 i was looking for a parfum for my sis and went to the shop. There were a man, whose name is Mirco and an old lady. As i came in I immediately felt uncomfortable since they were watching me constantly. After finding a lovely parfum, i just asked the old lady if i could buy it online. Of course i can, it’s up to me, but I didn’t intend to do it, it was just a random question and i was considering because I haven’t known the price in the shop yet. (when i asked the same question in any other douglas shops, they always told me: “yes of course! Sometimes they helped me to find the cheapest one). But the old lady said just one sentence “no, you can’t”. And then Mirco said “if everyone like you comes and tries the parfum in the shop, and then buy it online, our shop could be closed”. It’s correct what he said, but it wasn’t acceptable how he said it. He had completely other attitude than he had when i just came in. He looked at me like i had done something wrong and just like i’m the type who always comes to the shops, tries and goes. But how can i find my lovely parfum without having a change to try it???? AND, i just tried just 1 parfum on my hand, just one! Other parfum i just smelled short from the bottle. He said it’s okay to come in to a shop, and buy it online, but don’t say it. WHY??? It’s there any difference? At the end i would do the same thing! And again, I just ASKED!! I hadn’t tended to do it! He might have bad experiences with customers, but it’s not allowed to generalize every customers like that. As i asked him his name, he might realize something and said sorry, it was misunderstanding. But I don’t think it was really misunderstand. They don’t really concern about customer experiences, they just care how many products they could sell and if a customer comes in and goes out with their products. They just destroyed my feeling! As he looked at his clock and said, i said sorry and you still want to talk and it is 10 minutes already , as if talking to me is a waste for him, i was really speechless and went out and the old lady was...
Read moreOur recent visit to the Douglas Königsparfümerie Dresden turned into a bizarre experience straight out of a sitcom. We were barely through the door when the Frau Oberaufseherin saleswoman started eyeing us like we were about to rob the place. The perfume shop does have a large selection of perfumes which seemed quite inviting for us. We inquired with the other salesman about a perfume that we were looking to buy for our son, but it was unfortunately sold out. My wife then asked her son if he would like to see some of the store’s perfume selection via FaceTime.
What happened next was nothing short of surreal - this st*si-saleswoman, in her finest parade of misplaced authority, started shouting as if we'd unleashed a pack of wild animals in her precious store! The whole scene was so absurd that it felt like we’d stumbled into a hidden camera prank. My attempts to explain our modest phone-camera usage to her were met with even more screaming and weird gestures. Needless to say, we made a quick and dramatic exit with a mix of shock and ‘Das ist nicht zu fassen!’ laughter.
We’ve always loved visiting perfume shops during our travels, exploring high-end perfumeries in France, Italy, Spain, and beyond. It’s a delightful ritual that adds a touch of luxury to our journeys. But we have never encountered such rude and unpleasant service in any of the many perfume shops we’ve visited around the world.
What should have been a pleasant shopping experience became a ridiculous, almost comical ordeal. It’s a memory we won’t forget, though for all the wrong reasons.
P.S. The perfume they didn't have we later ordered easily...
Read moreThey have lovely obscure perfumes. I experienced the worst customer service. I went in on the day I arrived in Dresden. A lovely women showed me several fragrances and pointed out one brand that she said had two fragrances that were being discontinued and were being offered at a reduced price. I liked one of them and said I would return after I had settled into the town. When I returned she was not there. There were two other women one of whom had been there on the first day. I explained that I was interested in the discontinued scent. The women in the front said she would have to get her colleague who spoke some English. I explained what I wanted to her and she said "nein, nein." She said they never had sales and she went on and on and said I was wrong etc. She was rude-no smile-no I am sorry etc. I went out to a nearby shop to find someone who could help me explain that it was a discontinued product. No luck. They both insisted that I was mistaken. They tried to call the colleague that had told me about the "sale." I left empty handed but said I would return later in case they were able to contact their colleague. I went back several hours later to see a display of the perfume in question under a sale sign.(Even though they told me they NEVER have sales). My complaint is that neither salesperson offered an apology for the way they treated me. The worst offender looked at me and shrugged her shoulder. I purchased the perfume and I am pleased with it but their customer service...
