Watzke am Goldenen Reiter — Restaurant in Dresden

On last Sunday, four of us visited Watzke and unfortunately we had a terrible waitress with absolutely bad attitude. Our table was at the zone of the waitress with white short hair and a pair of glasses.

It all started from my friend ordered a glass of Rosé by pointing at the menu and that waitress brought us a glass of white wine instead. We explained that we didn’t order white wine but a glass of rosé. She started to act up and firstly argued that we pointed to the page of white wine, then she said when she heard the name of that wine, she assumed that must be white wine. So she neither paid attention to nor clarified what we ordered, and that’s our fault.

At the end, she did bring back the right drink, and then her drama began. She pretended to be super busy and avoided having eye contact with us. It’s obvious that she did that intentionally, because there were other tables around us, which arrived later than us, but they got food on their table before us. It took us half an hour to order another beer and food from another waitress. Without the help from other waitress, I don’t think we would have anything on our table for the whole evening.

I have been a loyal customer of the Watzke at Altpieschen, so it is such a shame that the service I received at Watzke at Goldener Reiter was not to its normal standard. Five stars to the food and drinks, and zero or minus star to service due to that unprofessional waitress, so it makes two...

I HEARD that there was good German food here but I will never know because my food NEVER CAME. I am from the Philippines and it was my first time in Germany and was really looking forward to eating here and experience authentic German food because I was only in Dresden for 2 days, 1 night before returning to Czech Republic. I am really mad and disappointed with this experience. I went there with my sister and friends who could speak German, so we had no problem ordering, and we waited for 1 hour and my food never arrived. Only the drinks. A group of girls at the table next to us arrived and ordered food. and even their food arrived ahead of ours! We tried to call attention of the waiters but they wouldn't attend to us because each waiter is assigned certain tables. They were really not helpful and used the excuse that the food was slow because there were so many people and many orders in the kitchen. But the table next to us all got their food like 15-20 minutes after ordering! So we cancelled the order. We were waiting for almost 2 HOURS! I honestly don't know if it was just bad service or the fact majority of us were Asians but we couldn't take it anymore. We left and couldn't tour around anymore because we had to leave to catch our train.

Now if anyone asks me how I like Germany or Dresden, I say "They have really good Vietnamese food." LOL! But seriously, not a...

I am on a trip with my family traveling most of Germany and have not been treated so rudely until today. I am not sure if the waiter, Ziesche, was having a bad day but my family and I felt discrimated and ignored. From the moment we sat down it seemed as if he was very unhappy that he had to speak English with us. We were a party of 9 and only 2 menus were given to the table - when we asked for extra menus the waiter got upset. Someone in our group didn't recieved their drink - when we asked the waiter for the drink he also got upset. When the waiter was taking our order it seemed as is he wasn't paying attention and took down the order incorrectly for 4 people in the group. We told him nicely that the order was something else but the waiter, while raising his voice, demanded that the people in my group ordered what the waiters brought to the table.. when i clearly saw and heard them order what they wanted by pointing at the item on the menu! The food was alright but felt as if we were obligated to eat what the waiters brought instead of finding a solution. We wanted to leave at that moment but we ate our food and decided to not even order desert and rush out. We wanted nothing to do with the waiter anymore. Maybe this service might be better for locals though I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant for tourists or anyone who may not...
