An Unfortunate Evening at 20 Grad Restobar On the evening of May 11, 2024, a group of ten friends and I visited 20 Grad Restobar in Düsseldorf to celebrate a special birthday. With high expectations for a Michelin-starred dining experience, we were regrettably met with disappointment. The ambiance of the restaurant, which usually carries a promise of a fine dining experience, was overshadowed by the service we received. The waitress assigned to our table displayed an unfriendly demeanor that bordered on anger, detracting significantly from the celebratory mood of our gathering. Service missteps continued as three of our orders were incorrectly served. When we sought assistance, our waitress was not very helpful, which only added to our frustration. For a restaurant of such repute, the level of service was surprisingly subpar. Moving on to the cuisine, the quality of the food did not align with the restaurant’s esteemed status. The paella, a dish that should burst with the flavors of the sea, tasted as though it had been hastily reheated in a microwave. The Gambo and Pulpo lacked the freshness and depth of flavor one would expect from a Michelin-starred establishment. The overall taste was indifferent, leaving us longing for the culinary excellence we had anticipated. In conclusion, while 20 Grad Restobar may have a reputation for excellence, our experience was a stark contrast to this. The service and the food failed to meet the standards expected of a Michelin-starred restaurant. It is with regret that we cannot recommend 20 Grad Restobar based on this visit, as both the service and the culinary offerings were...
Read moreWe made reservation for 4, and there is a remarks column so I picked Birthday celebration. Upon arrival they told us that we only have 1:30 hour to eat ! We had two kids with us and it was my daughter 10th birthday celebration . We needed to proceed eating unless we wanted to move to another restaurant without reservations. If you want a relaxing and enjoyable dinner please consider what I had Mentioned here . Waiter is rushing us off right after tapas served and we not even done yet he already been started clearing the plates. And took us around 25 minutes waiting time for main dishes were served. And it’s not my fault when they wanted to rush us off to serve another customers . While I was having my main dish , a waitress accidentally pushed my chair and she rush off again with a simple runoff apology. Secondly, May be due to too high expectations.. not sure why there is a remarks column for birthday celebration- not even some small birthday greetings from the staff. My daughter was wearing a birthday headband even if they don’t notice from the reservation remarks. Finally we are done with dinner and we wanted to order dessert for my birthday daughter and they told me that our time to eat there is done and we have to move to the bar .. what a...
Read moreAbsolutely not a place I would come back to in the future. Though our waitress was friendly and nice, the food was subpar for the price point and the theme of the restaurant. We tried the grilled octopus, garlic shrimp, pressa ibérico, fennel salad, and spinach croquetas. The octopus was grilled well but it was ruined by the accompanying olive sauce and mashed potatoes underneath. It didn't suit the meal at all and the olive sauce completely overpowered the taste of the octopus, not to mention that the gray color was visually off putting. The octopus left us both feeling unwell afterwards with unsettled stomachs. The fennel salad but good but it's disappointing that was the highlight of the meal. The garlic shrimp were tiny, the size of a euro coin at best, with barely any sauce or flavor. I was expecting large shrimp given the price and this was a rather pathetic portion of food. Charging 9,5€ for water is insane. Any place that's approaching 10€ for a bottle of water should really consider whether the experience is worth the cost. In my opinion, this place is not...
