Pizzeria Lupo — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

A tad salty on the pizza, but we also never add salt to food, so could just be us. Just really wished for more cheese, just was ok. Wait staff personable, but when I pulled out a card to pay, an abrupt point to completely weathered stickers that from only a couple feet away could have indicated anything with only a circle with a line across was discernable to myself. Apparently these faded stickers indicated no cards. I admittedly should have asked before ordering, my own fault there, but made a bad assumption as every other place in the area we have eaten/shopped at has taken a card. Conveniently!...there was a handy ATM directly across the street! I was only charged an ATM fee of several Euro PLUS about $13 USD to convert from 50 Euro, and had to hit several "other" selectors to narrow down from thousands to hundreds to being able to enter only 50 Euro. Glad I wasn't drinking and was paying attention. You bet that burst my bubble because I love Dusseldorf so much, my second time here in less than 9 months. It’s difficult to enjoy food when the service is bad! Would rate this place zero if this was possible. Was treated very rudely by a waiter who ‘literally chased’ my 3 young children and I out of the sitting area because it was only for the bar regardless of us having purchased from the pizzeria. He did not even offer the menu and assumed we would not order any drinks. Was given no chance to speak to the point that my daughter started crying and asked why he was being so mean to us. I am a professional who had taken her 3 young kids on an adventure in the city I could have bought a bottle of their most expensive wine had we been politely offered. After that experience, it didn’t matter what the pizza tasted like! The day was spoilt!

I hope the owners read this review and at least have the decency to apologize to my 6 year old daughter who could only reconcile this treatment to the bandage across her forehead and felt like she was treated this way because of how she looked.

Please train your waiters to have some humanity and to treat ALL people...

Best pizza place in Düsseldorf with a amazing taste and a great price. They provide very friendly customer service. They also very quick in providing the order. Special tips, for all the food lovers - definitely visit this place when in Dusseldorf and do try your pizza with lot of chilli and garlic oil. Trust me you will not regret eating this thing. It is was quite centrally located to the most happening section of dusseldorf where you could go amazing discos, bars and have the traditional Düsseldorf bear namely the Alt beer. Alt beer together with the amazing pizza from this shop is just a flabbergasting experience for taste buds. Ohh Mann.. Cannot insist any further to have this pizza more. They have both options for vegetarian and non vegetarian people, however no options for the vegan people. Shop could be really crowded in the evening and on weekends. They make fresh and delicious pizzas right in front of your eyes which makes the entire eating experience even more mouth watering. Must go and experience...
