Today there will be a long review about a wonderful place that I had the opportunity to visit in Dusseldorf. You may have to wait a little for your order, but believe me, the wait is worth it. Here they cook tasty, healthy and with love. I visit this restaurant for the second time and I am equally satisfied. Polite, pleasant staff who really care about their visitors. They will advise what to order. It is very nice that everyone's tastes can be satisfied in this restaurant. yes, for example, I was able to enjoy delicious coffee without caffeine. It turned out that such coffee is not very easy to find in German establishments. Delicious dishes. Large portions. Desserts that melt in your mouth. Cash and non-cash settlement. Average price segment. The place is crowded. And this means that it is really good here. I recommend!

Friendly service, although, as almost everywhere in Germany, the first few seconds are always a bit awkward if you don't speak German. Plus, it was a little busy so we got ignored in the beginning, but as soon as you get a waitress (in our case) assigned, their eyes and ears are all open to you. We order three things, as can be seen on the photos: a Nordic fish breakfast, a pancake and chili con carne. The amounts were no doubt superfluous, most certainly enough for big eaters like me and perhaps too much for women and children. But the prices are very reasonable (30 euros for everything including drinks). Thing that could be better: the pancake was a bit thick (in the Netherlands we usually have crepes instead of American pancakes). Also, the bread was somewhat dry. Four stars if they fix the bread!

I was looking for a brunch place close to my home and found this restaurant. I've tried scrambled eggs with bacon and fried onions and it was delicious. Eggs was cooked just right. Having a salad and healthy bread next to it with a butter on top - makes the whole plate complete and balanced. In terms of the atmosphere, as the restaurant is on the corner and has a lot tables, it's both comfortable and cozy place to spend some time.

Highly recommendable spot to experience a piece of typical German / Rheinland "all-purpose" place that combines café, bar/pub and restaurant all in one. Locals will regularly pop in just for a couple of drinks as well as to have lunch or dinner, an afternoon coffee or to enjoy a lengthy brunch...

This is one of the first spots I ever went to since I moved to D'Town 25 years ago and I hope it will last at least another 25...

I love the food variety which ranges from traditional German stuff, to Italian and international classics like Chili-con-carne. You may also find some Asian influence and some meals with a slightly more "modern" or "experimental" touch, although never TOO fancy ... With a changing weekly menu (which continues to carry some resident classics) you can get anything from Schnitzel or Bratwurst to bacon pancake, pasta, salads, soups and stews, to fish, various meat dishes and more. So if you have a group of people with a very mixed taste, you should find something for everyone here. If this makes you worry about the quality: Don't. In 9 out of 10 cases it is very, very good and I bow my head again and again before the guys and gals who manage to produce such variety and quality in such a tiny (and I MEAN tiny) kitchen.

Service may be a bit brisk at times (and admittedly a bit uncoordinated - especially if the place is packed - which it often is) but it really is part of their style and appeal. They are friendly (in a "matey" way) and helpful but don't expect an American style of streamlined (and somewhat artificial) service - this is a real German neighbourhood place with "real" people serving a "real" community. And we all have a bad day now and then. So it may not be perfect in all aspects all of the time but it truly is authentic to its (fish)bone. It's the type of place you may call a "2nd home" if you live in the area...

Due to "the Fisch's" popularity, though, it can be hard to find table at all, so be prepared to squeeze in near the bar and down a couple of beers while you wait to move to a table.

Atmosphere inside is typically busy and friendly but interior style might be called "uninspired" at best. Trends, quite literally, have never been a thing here. Doesn't matter, though, since usually the visiting crowd is the most important position anyway.

Nice streetside area outdoors.

Oh, and the background music typically is very good, too. Can be pretty much any style but is always a nice selection.

I...

Absolutely fantastic Sunday Brunch place. My husband and I went with our chihuahua dog and with our 1 year old baby and the service was excellent. The menue was big with lots of Sunday extras. The dog got a boiled egg. We has the chicken breakfast (lots of different chicken meats, lovely bread basket and butter, scrambled egg), the farmers omlette, and the pancake with cherries. I am quite picky with scrambled eggs (cannot stand liquid / uncooked bits or soggy eggs) but these were excellent. The portions were generous and large- we could not finish. The place was buzzing full without any empty places however the staff did not appear stressed and everyone was very friendly (extra wishes like milk with the tea, well done scrambled egg, egg for dog,...) were all fullfilled. We would happily come again. The location is also excellent with a lovely park with kids playgrounds and dog play areas nearby for a...
