Had a week-long stay here shortly after the reopening after the covid-19 restrictions were eased. The prices on offer were amazing, and this chain has taken several steps to ensure the safety of staff and guests during the pandemic, so we felt safe here. Among these were the fact that we "only" had our room cleaned and linnen changed every 3rd day. Another was that the bar and restaurant were closed. Instead the hotel offered us the option of ordering food delivered using popular delivery services. And the reception would accept the delivery - or actually we had 3 different things happen during our stay: 1. The reception accepted the order, called us and informed us the food was ready for collection at the front desk. 2. The reception accepted our delivery and brought it to our door. 3. The reception allowed the delivery person access to deliver at our room door. All three where quite okay with us. The front desk was always very friendly and provided cuttlery as needed. They also provided bags for the garbage, which we placed outside, next to our room door for collection. The location of the hotel is perfect for both shopping and sightseeing. U-Bahn goes right past the hotel and takes you to the centre of the city and the old town in minutes. A few hundred meters away you have the Düsseldorf Wehrhahn station, one stop from the cities main station. A few hundred meters the other direction you have busses and trams stopping as well. The city centre is also within easy walking distance. As for our room it was basically what you'd expect of a Premier Inn. Big enough for us to move around comfortably, work at the desk and with a nice sized TV (with an HDMI input available for connectingour own gadgets). The bathroom and the shower were okay sized. Didn't feel cramped yet not bug enough that I'd call them spacious. The bed was comfortable, but a tad smaller than other double beds we've experienced at Premier Inn hotels elsewhere. But still comfortable enough for our stay. We did not find any issues with cleaning. So all in all we were very happy and can only thank staff for making our stay such a pleasant one. We wish them all the best and we would definitely love to return again...
Read moreI booked this hotel only by chance, as I had booked to stay at a nearby hotel a few roads away prior to leaving London on our RoadTrip to Germany. Long story short, the other hotel was really nice in pictures and cheap but I was disappointed by the hotel staff who could not provide car parking space. As we were travel with our UK registered car, I didn't want to take the risk of parking on the side roads just in case of a break in etc. We set out on foot looking for underground parking and not another hotel, but only by accident (a pleasant one might I add) we came across the Premier Inn. As soon as we walked through the reception, we were greeted by a lovely Gentleman who spoke fluent English! He provided us 2x Twin Rooms and Parking for an amazing rate! When I walked into the room I was expecting to be disappointed but to my surprise the rooms were really clean and shower facilities really amazing! The parking also was very safe and secure, and plenty of spaces which helped me sleep the night really well!!!
In the morning, we walked to the city centre which was about 20 mins by foot (we walked like tourists, really slow and popping into every other shop!). We came back to the hotel after that and asked the lady at the reception about the best places to buy souvenirs and things to see etc we were directed to the right places by her. Staff there are really understanding, to maintain our schedule we requested late checkout the same lady accommodated this at no extra charge! This really helped us maximise our day there and we set of just in time to catch the Eurotunnel home!
I normally don't write reviews but thought I'd take some time out of my day to write about my experiences at the Premier Inn in Dusseldorf. Thanks to all the staff there that made our trip so amazing and who did not get annoyed when we asked them a million questions!!!
Will deffo stay here again if I find myself in Dusseldorf...
Read morePros: |-Great location (10-15 minute walk to Old Town and Little Tokyo, easy to reach from airport and with public transportation)|-Good value for the money|-Nice and helpful staff ||Cons: |We arrived late at night eager to go to sleep after a long day of travels, but when we opened the door to our room, we were hit with the overwhelming smell of vomit (although we couldn't find any in the room). The helpful staff put us in a premier plus room for the night, which smelled fine and seemed clean except for some little black hairs I found in our otherwise clean bed (it seemed like hair from the cleaner). At that point we were too tired to care and brushed the hairs off and went to sleep. The next day we had to change to a regular room (they only gave us the premier plus the night before because they didn't have any other rooms). The room we moved into smelled fine, but after unpacking, we discovered the carpet in the corner was crusted with vomit and there was vomit on the flooboards in that area. There were also two smiley faces drawn in what appeared to be blood on the wall. At that point we were tired of moving and wanted to get on with our trip, so we covered the vomit carpet with towels and ignored the nasty walls. (If you decide to stay here, make sure you bring slippers as you won't want your feet to touch the carpets). At the end of the stay, I was piling up our dirty linens and stripped the duvet cover from the duvet; it was stained yellow. My feeling is that they clean the rooms as usual, but there does not seem to be any long-term maintenance/upkeep. (I will say that the two rooms our girls had with single beds appeared to be in...
