TIO Italian Restaurant - Erlangen — Restaurant in Erlangen

Service was very disappointing, and here is why:

We went there on Saturday evening after reserving a table. Right after ordering main dishes, we decided that we wanted to get some orders of antipasti for everyone, but the waiter angrily told us he already sent the order to the kitchen. "What do you want me to do, go there now and tell them?!" Surprised by this reaction, we decided not to bother. We waited a while for drinks, but that happens; places get busy, we understand that. When reminding about drinks, they were placed on a nearby counter and the waiter just looked in our direction without saying anything. Ok.

After eating, we just wanted to pay and leave and forget another round of drinks. Upon paying, we had said we wanted to split the bill and again, very angrily, the waiter nearly yelling at us: "Okay, who pays first? Do you pay together? Then you? What?" And so on. We understand it is busy, but it was far too angry and impatient of a reaction. We quietly paid and left. Why would a business be trying to AVOID taking extra food orders or another round of drinks? We would have ordered appetizers, another round or two of drinks, and even may have come back another time. But now, that's not the case. Hard to understand.

To clarify, we realize it could have been an issue with communication. It was loud, and the waiter repeated things a couple times. We understand that it is Germany, and some people show up and try to speak English (for example), but everyone at the table, though not natively, speaks German without a problem, but in a restaurant I think it is normal to ask the waiter to repeat something if it is harder to hear.

It is nevertheless unacceptable to angrily respond out of frustration or impatience. That's how...

Popular place. Have visited couple of times (never my first choice - got overvoted by friends or lack of other options due to the peak times). Visitors vary in age, sex, nationality, status. Drinks - tried Mohito (I prefer traditional on crushed ice not big cubicles), Gin & tonic (OK but it is almost impossible to ruin this one). Red wine proposed by waiters was excellent. Food - Pizza was a little bit burned (happened 4 times). Once I went crazy and ordered Margarita with extra garlic. This was charged 1 euro extra and I have not been informed while placing the order. Could be more toilets and definitely staff should look there more often to check the cleaness and refill the supplies...

We tried it for the first time with my friend. The server was very nice and polite. I ordered tortellini and my friend ordered a pizza. Tortellini was not good though. In addition, there were some other "creatures" in the pizza. When we showed the waiter this problem, he apologized and we ordered another pizza. Pizza was not special. Normal pizza. The woman who collects the money was cold and rude. I would mark this restaurant as a 1 star, but only because of the waiter I give 2 stars. The price was also a bit expensive. The Germans say: "ein Mal ist kein Mal". But for me that was...
