Exenberger — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Quaint place on an unassuming corner. I needed to spend some time waiting for my train, and this spot was perfect. The servers had me seated quickly and were quick to bring out the food I had ordered. The cider they had was to taste, but the main course was excellent. The Schnitzel Weiner Art was truly fantastic, being fried well and the potatoes on the side were equally as delicious.

The one real complaint I do have regarding this restaurant is the servers not being particularly attentive, however this could easily be thrown up to a difference between German culture and the American expectations...

Exenberger offers extremely friendly service (staff) and super fair prices in a surprisingly modern and clean environment. Lots of pillows and cushions around, which made it even easier to relax.

The daily changing food menu seemed great and offered lots of extra choices, though we went there mostly for drinks. The beer and wine selection is very thoughtful and tasty, though beer choices are sparse. Not the place to go for Apfelwein, but no surprise given the competition nearby. Flexible card payment is offered (not sure about minimum spend), vaccine records were checked, though...

I was in Frankfurt on a 24hr layover in July 2023, traveling from Singapore to Montreal with my family. It was the first time my children had been in Europe, and after a morning of sightseeing, we ended up at Exenberger for lunch. It was phenomenal.
