So we went for Sunday dinner at 5.40pm. First of all there was still space (not all reserved). There was no option online to reserve seats or atleast we couldn't find it. That's a bit of a minus in the year 2022. Also another minus is cash only, I hoped that was a thing of the past after covid but it seems not.

The service started out strong and friendly. The place was also just getting started. The later it good you noticed the stress and some waitresses are better with it than others. Like missing feedback when ordering dessert which after 10mins and asking for it seems to take up to 30mins to be done. Would be nice to know that before. Or forgetting a drink order. But it's ofc not that bad because this can happen to anyone and it was already super packed at that time. So all good, we got everything we ordered. But for the 3 stars. It seemed someone got a bit upset because I asked again after a certain amount of time and probably thought it was a it annoying by me. (still if you give me timings before hand I can work with that)

The food. So let's start with the good things. The dessert fried apple rings with cream and ice cream is amazing and there is always space for that. Handkäs and Schneegestöber I can recommend as starter. Sadly the quark was underseasoned, also the schnitzel and tafelspitz. I don't know if it was just salt missing or more but it was a bit bland. The meat was really well done and a bit seasoned It could have been amazing. The green sauce is ok but nothing special.

Overall we enjoyed the stay and also the food. And listen to the waitress if she tells you that the big schnitzel is really a lot.

PS: both types of potatoes...

Had a possibility to visit the place… Well, let me put it lightly: “Please, don’t come here. There is no German food, nor food in general at this place. It’s all about serving pickled fried meat. The reason for it, I assume, is that meat gone bad, so it was pickled to preserve it for a lil longer, and earning money by serving untrustworthy products. I was fortunate to be in a company of a splendid young woman, which happened to be a vegan. When we asked for a vegan option, the answer was a moment of silence and, a few moments later, together with the other dishes, we got a merciless mocking of boiled potatoes without even a glimpse of hope in form of any seasoning or even olive oil. The place is „splendidly“ decorated with arts of taxidermy. Some of those have been decapitated. I guess in a desperate effort to put them out of their misery after them seen the types of things served at this establishment. An important addition to the experience is also an absence of any air in the room, after 15 minutes the feel of running 10 kilometers on a sunny day gets deeply imbedded in subconsciousness and a compulsive urge to take a shower appears.

Conclusion: I am really sorry, should somebody’s opinion about German culture and cuisine be formed by such an experience. I’ve never considered going vegan that hard as on this accusation. The things done to food here are straight out outrageous. The prices are also very high and do not worth it in any of the wildest dreams of the head cook/owner.

I highly recommend to avoid the place, thereby making yourself a favour by sparing yourself a...

We ordered the Frankfurt slaughter plate and the Frankfurt schnitzel. I wasn't a huge fan of either the blood or liver sausages from the slaughter plate, but they were interesting to try. I really liked the schnitzel, it's far superior to any schnitzel I've had before. I thought that their house apple wine was just ok. The tavern style of the restaurant was very cool. There were several long tables and benches inside the restaurant, and different groups of people were seated right beside each other. Everyone was talking and laughing, and it was a great vibe, but this is definitely not the place to come for a quiet, sit-down meal.

Please note that this place is cash only!! Apparently there is a sign that says cash only at the front of the restaurant, but we completely missed it. We only found out after we ordered our food that it was cash only, and even though we asked them to cancel our order shortly after placing it as we weren't sure if we had enough cash to cover it, they told us it was not possible to cancel. Thankfully we had just enough cash on us to pay for the meal. We were originally planning on ordering more food after the initial order, as their menu looked interesting, but we didn't end up ordering anything else due to them only...
