A very historic place which is a very well known and well frequented by locals and tourists. It has a very date, some will call vintage style. It may need some refurbishment sooner or later. Great place to sit outside if weather permits. Service is generally nice and friendly. But sometimes it is not. Could depend on weather or circumstances 🤔 Solid Frankfurt style food. Menu has changed hardly in the last years but there is a changing daily and seasonal menu which can make a great difference 😀 Expect typical food with great local "grüne Souce" or a very nice "schnitzel ". Do not forget to bring cash and card payments are not possible.

Visit restaurant for the first time. Free sitting beer hall with friendly staff. Tradition authentic interior with lots of local dining there. There’s English menu available and staff able to communicate in English. Only cash payment available. They serve appropriate portion, quality food and drinks with appropriate pricing . Apart from their Apfelwein , their dry Reisling is beautiful! My favourite. Lunch cost €48.80 - a Viennese Schnitzel, a pork knuckle, 2 Riesling 0.2L each and a homemade cloudy apple juice 0.3L for 2pax. I’ll definitely back during summer to enjoy their outdoor sitting.

My worst experience in a German restaurant. Food is really bad, käsespätzle comes without a sauce, just a stack of melted cheese on top, and the Spätzle itself was not at all original. Tartar is a dump of minced meat, should have been sold as Mett instead of Tartar. They couldn’t serve still water, only sparkling. So I asked for tap water, they said they can’t do that, the pipes are too old. I couldn’t have a süßgespritzter Apfelwein, they only had Fanta but no sprite. We couldn’t pay by card, they take only cash - the reason? This is a payment method that’s in circulation since 1906. No wonder, it seemed like they were stuck and didn’t improve since that age. Also the toilets were filthy. Wasn’t expecting a pleasant experience there but it shows how much they care for hygiene - not at all… such a pity

I have visited this restaurant several times. The food was great, and most of the staff were friendly, but there was one staff member who really made me feel bad. She had black hair and dark skin. While the other staff members kindly brought us the food and drinks we ordered, but she always pretended not to understand our pronunciation. When I ordered more beer, she didn't come back, even after I asked several times and she repeated the word "beer" herself. When I saw her being friendly to the German family sitting at the table next to us, even bringing water to their dog, I thought she was being racist because we were Asian. If you are against racism, I recommend not going to this restaurant!

One of my best experience in German restaurant, super friendly service that is almost impossible in old Sachsenhausen. Food is typical German style in decent portion, tasty green sauce and quite good price after inflation. Flexible ordering altitude, easily switch the side dish to other alternatives. Only downside is they have two desserts only, but overall we enjoy the place very much. Reservation is needed during peak time.

The green sauce was great, but schnitzel was deep fried and had a lot of oil on it, also was a little hard to cut and chew. Potatoes were also not Bratkartoffeln, but deep fried and were not the best. We also didn’t see anywhere that card payments are not possible, so we had to go to the atm in order to pay. It’s 2024 - hows that even possible? The place itself has a lovely terrace and the service was fast.
