This wasn’t my first visit to Jesse James. On my first visit, the food was amazing, but the service didn’t match the quality of the food, which already raised some eyebrows.
However, this review is about my most recent dinner at Jesse James on the 18th of September. The burgers were amazing, which is why I’m not giving it 1 star.
Unfortunately, the service was borderline racist. As soon as the waiter realised he needed to speak to us in English, he showed signs of annoyance. He took our order loudly and complained that we should have ordered drinks first (though he hadn’t told us that beforehand, so we placed our entire order at once). He was simply unsophisticated and very impolite, especially towards our friend from India.
At the end of our visit, we realised we hadn’t received the bill, so we asked the waiter if he had given it to us. His response was to shout loudly, “I gave it to you on the table, what do you want me to do, bro?” Right in front of us, he started complaining about us to another German-speaking customer, not realising that one of us could understand him.
The cook deserves respect for consistently good food, but the owner should be more careful with the staff he hires. Not even the best burger in the world will make me return to...

Read moreThe food was exceptionally good, the lady who served was super friendly and professional from beginning to the end.when we wanted to pay with our company creditcard we were told they need to charge an extra 5% fee because this was a company creditcard. They also state this in the menu in small letters. According to the european PSD2 guidelines set up in 2019, it is NOT allowed to make these kind of surcharges on any payment with credit or debit card. The owner of the company did not care and still added the 5% on the bill. That ment we were paying €16,- for nothing. If you want to go for a dinner in this restaurant, please make sure that you know about these guidelines and they are not allowed to do this.
