Pizzeria Mille Lire — Restaurant in Frankfurt

When we arrived, the restaurant was only about half full, yet despite having a reservation, we were not seated. After a long wait and only after making ourselves known to the staff, we were finally offered a table — but in such a disinterested and dismissive manner that it set the tone for the rest of the experience.

Once seated, we overheard other diners complaining that they had already waited 45 minutes without so much as receiving a drink. We ourselves waited over 20 minutes without anyone bringing a menu. When the waiter finally came by, he tossed the menus onto the table with the grace and courtesy of someone throwing scraps into a dog bowl.

In the entire time we were there, we saw just three pizzas and a few drinks come out of the kitchen. The atmosphere was chaotic, the service unwelcoming, and the overall experience utterly unacceptable. We decided to leave before the food even arrived — and frankly, we were relieved to do so.

Here you get THE BEST PIZZAS of Frankfurt. We live 30km south of Frankfurt but we drive up here every time when we are craving for pizzas. The pizzeria is small but well-known, so be sure to reserve a table in advance. They also have pretty good wine selections. The owner Toni Marcellino used to have another wine bar/restaurant nearby. So they know what they’re offering. Don’t forget to look at the handwritten board at the counter and find weekly surprises. Service team is really nice, though English is not their strength, so if you don’t speak German/Italian/Spanish, it’s better to ask Google (or other guests, usually very happy to recommend you what they love as well) for help. This is my second visit here and first one was during lockdown so unfortunately I couldn’t dine inn !!

But they really have some authentic Italian pizzas! The pizzas have very crunchy base with right amount of Parmesan cheese!! I had their vegetarian pizza “Ortolana”. It was good 😋😋

Entire staffs could also speak Italian and they were very friendly!!

Ambience is good to sit by the curb side but comparatively it’s a small place! For the pizzas they have to offer, I think the price is quite reasonable!!

Even though this was my second visit I think the consistency and taste of pizza remains same!!...
