If you’re looking for authentic Persian cuisine in Frankfurt — or anywhere in Europe, for that matter — look no further than Kish Restaurant. I’ve traveled extensively and tried Persian food in cities like Paris, London, and even Los Angeles, but Kish stands out as one of the absolute best. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s an experience.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality that reflects the heart of Persian culture. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between traditional elegance and modern comfort, with tasteful décor, Persian art, and gentle background music that sets a relaxing mood.
Now, let’s talk about the food — which is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is a celebration of flavor, cooked to perfection with the freshest ingredients and a level of care you can taste. The kebabs are juicy, perfectly marinated, and grilled to smoky perfection. The Ghormeh Sabzi is rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. And don’t even get me started on the Tahchin — golden, crispy, and filled with tender saffron chicken. The rice is fluffy and fragrant, often topped with barberries or nuts that add a delightful twist.
For starters, the Kashk-e Bademjan (eggplant dip) and Mast-o-Khiar are a must. The freshly baked Persian bread (naan) is the perfect accompaniment, straight out of the oven and still warm. And for dessert, the Persian ice cream with saffron and rosewater is absolutely divine — light, floral, and a perfect ending to the meal.
The service is consistently excellent. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always willing to offer great recommendations. You can feel that they take pride in what they serve and truly want you to enjoy your time there.
One of the things I also appreciate about Kish is the consistency. Whether you go for a weekday lunch, a special occasion dinner, or a family gathering on the weekend, the quality never dips. And the portions are generous — you’ll never leave hungry.
Kish Restaurant doesn’t just serve food; it delivers a full cultural and sensory journey. It’s a place where memories are made, and where you can taste the richness of Persian heritage in every bite. I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone living in or visiting Frankfurt.
Truly a five-star experience, and easily the best Persian restaurant in the city — possibly in...

Read moreI'm from LA where you have no shortage of Persian restaurants, but this restaurant really surprised me in the best way possible.
First of all the food presentation looks like art! Second of all, the restaurant serves the most delicious barley soup EVER! Too top it off, it was for free, which I would have very happily paid for. If I lived in Frankfurt, I'm certain I would order that soup at least once a week. I need to add that I normally don't care for soup, but this is the best soup I've ever had!
We ordered their eggplant dish, and it looked so gorgeous I had to take pictures of it right away. I hated the thought of eating it, because it meant destroying that beautiful sight.
I had Koobideh kabob and MastoMousir. Their kabob to me was on the dry side, but that isn't a big deal as you can always run some butter on it. Their kabobs were think in my opinion, but keep in mind, in the USA where I'm from everything is huge. The rice portion was small too. But again, we're not in LA. The masto mousir (yogurt with shallots) had small chunks of shallot, I prefer the bigger chunks. The biggest chunks make it a different experience and a better one.
The staff was top notch!!! 5 star service. Just amazing. They were kind, friendly, hospital and professional. Never had service like that at any persian restaurant.
I look forward to coming back here wherever I'm in Frankfurt.
P.S.: I need to look up barley soup recipes. Theirs was just unique. I'll be dreaming of that soup until I'm back in...
