Mare Azzurro — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Been there many times, unfortunately It’s a hit and miss each time.

Once I had delicious fish soup with lots of salmon in it, another time the soup is diluted with very few salmon. Same with the standard of oysters. I had on one occasion been served not fresh oysters and I never ordered again.

Only one particular server there is very friendly and his service is excellent. On other days when he’s not there, the service of the other guys are cold, below-par.

The service I had today (9th September 24) is poor and the food portion is small and MEASLY. Refer to my photos. (It was taken before I started eating)

The slices of bread came with all the centres empty as though somebody had plucked out all the insides. (Photo) Not drizzled with garlic oil compared to the other times I visited. The portion of seafood is so small. The shrimp, salmon and calamari are so small. I was shocked when the food came, as I had this a few times and it was not like that.

Many flies in the restaurant as well. But it did not stop me from visiting until today’s bad experience.

It is one of my favourite restaurants to go to in Frankfurt. Due to its inconsistency in standard of food and service, I will be reconsidering patronising it anymore. I will also stop recommending this...

One of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been to. Super fresh fish and seafood. Everything was made to order and seasoned very well. The prices are fair and the portions are big!

I ordered the fish soup and grilled mackerel which filled me up. They gave us free toasted bread with butter and salsa dip and another white dipping sauce I wasn't sure what it was but it was good. There is also olive oil, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper in the table to make your own dip or season your food.

The server was friendly and attentive. We loved all the grilled fish which came with fries or salad. My family ordered the salmon and calamari twice because it was so fresh and delicious.

Restrooms are clean and there is plenty of street parking outside.

I highly recommend this spot to all locals and visitors! I promise you it will not...

As someone used to eat fish often, I was super excited with the idea of getting fish and seafood in Frankfurt. But the experience was the most disappointing I've never had before. I'll tell you the story from the beginning. Calamari price = 11.90/kg. Shrimps price = 1.90/100g. I order 200g shrimps and 200g calamari. When he asks me about the shrimps, I kindly tell him that I would like the entire shrimps, but not peeled shrimps. He tells me that they are mixed, so I nod and accept it. Then he prepares the calamari and I observe that he's weighing everything at once (even when the prices are different). He gives the bill to a girl that wants me to pay for the whole with a price of 24.90€/kg. I felt totally cheated and, of course, I didn't accept it. I'll never come back. Unfortunately I can't...
