Fukuro Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I’m extremely sorry for leaving this review, but after being here many times I didn’t deserve such a treatment! First of all I want to clarify that I’ve been to Fukuro Sushi almost 5 times already, a fix stop everytime I was in the city and the food is beyond good and delicious. Food was definitely not the problem of my visit, conversely, the only reason I didn’t leave. I’ve been to Fukuro sushi almost 5 times together with my german partner and everything has always been good, never had any kind of problem. The one and only time I wanted to bring my Italian dad to let him try the delicious sushi I had been telling him about, things went downhill. We didn’t book so we accepted the fact that we would’ve had to wait to sit but it was worth it, I had no intention to give up on the gourmand sushi they do. Time passes by, tables get free, people enter and sit while the waiters look at us waiting in the cold outside. It felt like any of the people that entered after us had a booking, but for some reason they sat and we had to wait. (Not 1 table, but 3/4/5!). I’ve had enough when a group of 3 spanish guys arrived and skipped us, once again. Little did they know, I know spanish and I know they said to each other ‘do we just skip these two germans?’ Referring to us. Thats how I knew FOR SURE they didn’t book. Mad, I enter the place and look straight at the waiter while he talks to these men. I got furious when the waiter had the audacity to come to me with a smile on the face and tell me ‘they had booked’. As if I was stupid you know…I was ready to get out and leave, but they magically found a table, so we sat. Food was good, as always and it will always be, but the inconveniences didn’t end! It was time to pay and I had this feeling they would’ve tried to rob us somehow and…they tried to! I go pay, I get my receipt and they tried to make us pay a beer I never ordered instead of a small bottle of water. I tell them, they look pissed off, as if they didn’t expect me to notice and say something, and gave me back my money. I go out, once again, and check also for the other beer they made us pat: it comes out they made us pay for the priciest beer in their menu when we definitely didn’t order it! The sad part of all this is that I loved this place and since I already had been there many times, I didn’t expect this to happen, at all. I understood that as foreigners clients, we were not as valuable as the other guests, which resembled in people skipping us in line and waiter that tried to fool us with money. To start with the good: good service amazing TanTanMe, one of my favourite soups ever, they cook it amazing cozy small place

The bad: they served me the Tempura Udon on the photo. One word-disgusting. It was so overcooked like the udon was boiling for 3 hours. It was impossible to pick it up with chopsticks because was falling apart of its softness. Also the liquid was completely evaporated apparently after being boiled for hours.. I ordered the same dish few weeks back and it was properly cooked and tasty as it should be.. How could you serve something like this that looks like someone ate it and vomited back in the plate? Usually I never get agitated for stuff like food in a restaurant but this was too much of a joke and very unprofessional. Sushi - it is tasty but it's the only place where the sushi pieces are so big that you can eat them at one bite. That's not how sushi should be made, but I guess some people like due to the larger portion, for me personally it's not normal to serve such a huge sushi that you need to eat with...

Service and atmosphere weren’t that good compared to the prices. I was there Sunday evening and it was so crowded on a cold night. What annoyed me was the atmosphere in the restaurant, it was so loud hectic, gave me a feeling of canteen. The door keeps being opened and closed for every single minute because of the delivery guys which was uncomfortable sitting there in a cold night.

Service was slow, they forgot a few orders. They keep bringing stuffs to different tables and asked if we or they ordered that which was really annoying, poor management obviously..

Food was good and the soup was tasty.

I was a bit disappointed as my expectation was really high after read the reviews.
