Food was overpriced and honestly terrible, not one fresh/homemade item on the menu.
i had the "apfleweinbratwurst with fries and a salad": lukewarm storebought sausage, wrapped with burnt bacon and filled with a little cheese, acompanied by underdone fries and a salad with canned beans and storebought dressing.this was 14 €
my girlfirend had the "pfefferfleisch" (a kind of goulash) with hashbrowns and a side salad. the meat was fatty, the sauce oily and reminded us of catfood. the hashbrowns were storebought (again) and the salad was made from the same canned items i had in mine. she payed 13 € for this. the goulash remained nearly uneaten.
the staff had no understanding for or criticism of the subpar food (he remained friendly though). no compensation of any form was offered and he did not thank us for the undeserved tip (10%).
the star i gave aside from the minimum 1 star was for the actually good apfelwein and the authentic atmosphere.
still: you can drink apfelwein nearly everywhere in frankfurt and the food was terrible. we wont be back...

They serve authentic German dishes. The food is really delicious!! I had the “Odenwälder Kochkäs-Schnitzel”. It was really crunchy, the sauce was deliciously creamy and cheesy. On the side they served some buttery baked potatoey goodness.
(Keep in mind that the fresh salad is served prior(!) to the main dish. I decided to eat is all together, because I like to have some fresh veggies to accompany the main dish)
For dessert, I had the “Frankfurter Apfelränscher”, which are crunchy battered apple slices, topped off with vanilla sauce, cinnamon and sugar. A nice and sweet way to end a delicious meal!!
Highly recommended to spend some quality here. Either by yourself, with friends and/or with...

Amazing authentic German food! I had to do some digging to actually find out about this place, but it was not swamped with tourists at all. They have a German menu and an identical one in English. I ordered the Frankfurt Schnitzel which came with a fresh and tangy side salad along with a bowl of the local green sauce. The entire meal was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time, and I enjoyed some Apfelwein along with it. The waitress was kind and helped me with some of the translations. The inside of the restaurant had a rustic feel. Whether you're new to Frankfurt or have lived here a while, I cannot recommend this...
