Mosebach — Restaurant in Frankfurt

We (2 people) came here at 9:30 pm (opening hours are until 11 pm) for just a drink and were greeted in a very unfriendly way. I don't care about the typical unfriendliness in Frankfurt beer gardens or restaurants. I'm a customer, I bring money, and if they would have said 'no, we're closing earlier tonight due to the bad weather' I would totally have accepted that. However, we ended up sitting inside and were not offered neither a menu nor asked what we would like to have. The inside area was completely empty, we were seated at a 10-person-table and at 10:15 pm another group (comprising 7 people) arrived. And they were seated at our same table for the convenience of the barkeeper... Haha, ridiculous. But we were all cool with it. Again, unfriendly treatment...

We just had a bad experience in that restaurant... Yes, the atmosphere is fantastic, the place is super popular, and the menu seems very appealing but the rest was just not good. The employees seemed to be super busy and we waited for quite a while until we got their attention. When we finally got some attention, our waiter acted super pushy and the interaction with him was just unpleasant and quite rude. Unfortunately, the food was not good either. For a simple salad with a few stripes of overcooked beef, we paid about 18 Euro. The schnitzel was good but again overpriced for the size of the portion. There are little things I liked about this restaurant. Unfortunately we have a friend who is always organizing dinner here, so I will have to reconsider our relationship! Only the indoor patio is OK in summer. Other than that, really disappointment experience: only pay in cash available (well prepared for covid times..) menu is rather limited. Much tastier german dishes in other restaurants in the area service was bad. Their looks and appearance was strange. When we asked to pay, the “waitress” calculated our share (two main dishes and two drinks) and “apparently” failed by 5 euros. No receipt was given (maybe because of covid? :)) the actual restaurant inside feels outdated...
