My experience with the hot chocolate at this establishment was incredibly disappointing. Despite giving it multiple tries, I can confidently say it was the worst I’ve ever had. The ambiance was far too noisy, reminiscent of a bustling train station rather than a cozy café. Surprisingly, there were no trash bins in sight, which is unusual for any café setting. Additionally, the lack of seating space indoors was a major inconvenience. Overall, my experience was so unsatisfactory that I wouldn’t hesitate to give it zero stars. Somehow in Germany Caffe Latte/Latte Macchiato with a single shot of espresso seem to be the norm. I want a drink tasting of coffee and not a nightcap (warm milk before bed). So I went for two shots. Instead of giving me the same drink with two shots (as I asked for), they then made me a large. 😅 So the coffee-milk ratio was exactly the same as what I was trying to avoid. They seem committed to serving as much warm milk as possible. I’m sure I’ll be able to sleep well tonight.

The other thing was that they didn’t serve in order (I guess because I ordered oat decaf). Several people that came after me got served first.

Elbgold serves exceptional coffee, and the staff is notably friendly. However, following the recent refurbishment, I've noticed a significant reduction in available space, which becomes particularly noticeable during the colder months when outdoor seating is less viable. Additionally, the chairs could use some improvements in terms of comfort.

I have fond memories of frequenting Elbgold due to its ample space and extensive breakfast options, and it's disheartening to see that these offerings have diminished.
