Taverna Romana — Restaurant in Hamburg

Awesome price if you choose the lunch deals. For 7.50 euro, you get a soup and an array of main dish ranging from pizza, pasta to steaks. I found the pork skewer with tomato rice and salat was outstanding; the pork itself being nice, moist and flavorful. Very warm atmosphere, with lots of decors that makes it seems you're dining in 17th century Europe.

Food taste is okay. Good, but not amazing The main draw is, however, the food portion which is still massive and cheap. Why get a €7.50 Döner when for the same price, you can get a soup, appetiser bread and a whole meal, complete with salad

WAITED FOR 1+ HOUR FOR OUR FOOD! After more than 1 hour which we (six people) have been patiently waiting, the waitress came and served the food to 2 of our 8 guys, who came later and ordered just 15 minutes ago! We ran to the manager, who told us that we “have been just forgotten and need to wait for the food for another 20 minutes”. Of course, we have collected our things, cancelled our orders and went to pay: do you think, the restaurant has apologized? Probably, has taken expenses of coffee that we have been sipping for more than 1 hour? No way, they EVEN MADE US PAY 1.5 EUR FOR STILL WATER! If you go with a large group of people, look for a different restaurant – sorry, I can’t tell you if the food in Taverna Romana is tasty, because WE DID NOT GET...

Good Mediterranean restaurant without the serious wow effect. Serving a large selection of different meals, the food is expectedly good to mediocre, not blowing you away, nor making you regret your decision to eat here necessarily. Salads tend to be drenched in way to much dressing, garlic is used in an overpowering matter in the dip served along the bread. The pizza tastes good, dough wise at least but misses the mark in terms of inspiring toppings or mix of flavours. The reason why I still like it, is the friendly service, the relatively low price and the willingness to offer more than you paid for, like extra bread.
