Quan 36 — Restaurant in Hamburg

At best mediocre, but clearly popular. (I could have given this a 2, but you wouldn't read this if I had). The food we ordered was no more than OK, with the warmest (not hot) and tastiest being a spring roll cut into pieces, possibly to aid reheating. All appeared together within a few minutes of the order being placed, which I found unusual. The fried noodles I ordered as a side were clearly instant noodles from a packet, and like the rice that came with the lukewarm main dish were in a bowl no bigger that a teacup, and both were cold. The waitress, when I said this, held the bottom of the noodle cup and said 'hot', and they were on the outer surface cold to the touch. They were taken away, returned, having not been removed from the cup and fried, and were now again tepid to the touch, and warm inside, so clearly microwaved again. Given the very high quality of food served in Hamburg across cuisine types, I am surprised this place has such good ratings, which are completely underserved based on my visit, and likely influenced by the convivial atmosphere, and friendly staff. If you want a nice place to eat, you won't be disappointed. If you want tasty, authentic, and freshly cooked...

Unfortunately, our positive dining experience was overshadowed by a subsequent event. My brother, who had mussels from the restaurant, suffered from food poisoning shortly after our meal. It's worth noting that throughout our trip, we shared the same meals, except for this instance. This incident significantly affected the remainder of our trip, our plans and overall enjoyment.

We reached out to Quan36 through Instagram and email to inform them of the situation, hoping for understanding or some form of compensation. However, the response we received was disappointing, as they refused to acknowledge the incident or offer any form of reparation. After a long walk in the city we came here for dinner and we didn't regret it! The interior of the restaurant is super cosy with nice colours that don't make the eyes tired. The service was super helpful, friendly and very polite. We had a jasmine tea and an astra beer. For dinner we order the menu no 2 and we didn't regret it, even if we were little bit skeptical at the beginning. Everything was tasting fresh and super yummy. The only negative thing is that all plates came at once and we couldn't eat it so fast . That had as a result that the food wasn't that hot anymore. We totally recommend it and for sure we are...
