Went to the place for takeout and the food is horrible. The ambience is great, servers are great. They don’t take card though but that was a glitch apparently. We ordered Nawabi Biriyani. This was a pitiful plate of food consisting of beans carrot cauliflower broccoli and zucchini. What is going? The rice was drenched in some canned quality tomato sauce. This is sold for the unfair price of 20 euros. The university campus Mensa has served better food for 5 euros and that’s saying something. I have no idea what the other reviewers are doing and giving five star reviews. And these are coming from Indians. Do these people have a stake in the restaurant? I can understand the local population giving reviews cause they are no idea what real Indian food is. The potatoes in the kofta were stale to the point of going bad. If you think I’m exaggerating you can visit two places, Mahajivan or Goa Zone (Hafen City) and then decide for yourself( this for the five star reviewers). You will pay a similar price in both these places. Three dishes for 60euros and the poorest quality in Hamburg yet. If they want their business to succeed, I recommend opening a fast food joint. Pretending to be something exquisite and serve this level of cuisine is completely unfair to the customer. No attempt was made to actually cook. I recommend that you hire somebody who knows and respects Indian food. See for yourself (picture) this lovely assorted dish that is boiled vegetables, boiled chicken and tomato sauce that is supposedly called Nawabi Biriyani.

I ordered food and it was delivered fast and really hot, which is nice! But anything else was not good. The food doesn't taste authentic to me. I ordered a vegetarian paneer dish and Biryani with chicken. And both were disgusting. I'm really sorry to say that. But this restaurant should change the chef. My paneer dish was so sweet that it could have been a desert. The chicken was dry, and all in all, it seemed like theire using frozen mixed veggies to prepare their dishes, and i am not a fan of it. It's ok to use frozen stuff as a homecook, but come on guys, broccoli and cauliflower in the Biryanj ? Is that supposed to be there ? :/ I normally enjoy Indian cuisine and have been to nice places, but this time I'm just disappointed. 40€ to trash :( Besides that I ordered a desert which said to come with pistachios... it came with Cashews... much cheaper, I understand, but please don't put pistachio on the menu then.

I celebrated my birthday dinner in here this year. The restaurant looks very elegant and cosy -we were both shocked and impressed ☺️ As it's my birthday, they had a surprise starter for us with a sparkling wine to toast. After our mains, unexpectedly, they gave me a dessert with a sparkler and a nice rose to end it. The staffs are so welcoming, and very attentive. They greeted and sang a birthday song to me as well. It was such a lovely evening! To the staff: Thank you so much for making my birthday special. I will come back again! 😍

I have been living in Germany for more than 7 years now.

This is the worst experience I had ever since in Indian Restaurants in Germany especially in Hamburg.

I do not understand how they manage to get these amount of positive reviews in google.

Let me explain my experience. We ordered Nawabi Biriyani, Butter chicken and two mango lassies for us (family of 4) All items are super expensive (Biriyani costs around 20 €, Butter chicken with rice - 27€(!!), 300ml Lassi costs 8 €

Ambience was nice, food took almost half an hour to get served on our table.

(Unpleasant) Surpise # 1 Now comes the worst part - Nawabi biriyani (lets not call it Biriyani !!) is drenched in water mixed with some random vegetables and chicken, no flavours remotely resembling biriyani or Pulao!!

Can you imagine frozen Broccoli, Beans and other vegetables in a Chicken Biriyaani? Come on!!

Another surprise is they don't serve Raita with the Biriyani!! We had 2 small portions of curd served after we explicitly requested.

The butter chicken is worse than the rice dish explained above. (I have never had any bad experience with butter chicken atleast until now and considered to be the safest Indian dish in Germany until now. Thanks Gandhi for crushing my expectations about this dish too 😢 )

Another thing is about the portions they serve are very small for the atrocious price they are charging.

Service was also not great - we could feel an inferior service offered to us compared to that offered to the other European/ German customers sitting along with us. The waiter was unfriendly and mean towards us. (But I would have spared this behaviour if the food was atleast "below average" or "average")

(Unpleasant) Surpise # 2 We openly shared our feedback and disappointment to the waiter in response to the feedback session. But he immediately switched to Hindi (which he was reluctant before) - "Yehi hai hamara kitchen" (This is what our kitchen is) He didnt even care to ask why we think so or which dish needs improvement so and so !!!

(Unpleasant) Surpise # 3 We got the bill on our table which was not very close to the prices of our items ordered. So we tried to double check the individual items. We found out that the (already) expensive mango Lassi was charged 1€ more. Then upon our feedback, the bill was corrected.

I wouldn't have even cared to check the bill if the food was atleast average.

(Unpleasant) Surpise # 4 We preferred to pay with our card. But to our suprise (unpleasant), the restaurant only takes cash (which is situated in the center of Hambug city) for some unknown and weird reason.

I would have given 0 (zero) rating for food and service if google allowed me to.

We were really disappointed with overall experience and spoiling a Saturday evening and wasting my 61€ to trash. 😭😭

For the price you are charging, I seriously recommend hiring some chefs who know and respect Indian cuisine and at least have some basic idea of Indian spices...
