Overpriced mediocre tasting wannabe-Korean food.
I “ordered” the crispy tofu and cauliflower version and the spring rolls with crispy tofu.
Spring rolls with crispy tofu (5.5EUR): Small, neither crispy outside nor filled with crispy tofu. Tofu was soggy. There was a tiny amount of dipping sauce. Too little. Position size too small for the amount. Taste was bland.
Cauliflower + crispy tofu combo (13.50EUR): Not spicy at all. Vegetables were coated in some kind of tempura dough. It was rather soggy and fatty, not crispy. Cauliflower was mushy inside, tofu was not crispy outside. All of it was covered in a sauce full with flavour enhancers, strange BBQ taste. Hot sauce in an extra bowl was not spicy. The raddish covered only the ground of the bowle, maybe 15 mini stripes. Not enough and was no addition to the meal. Not a taste to remember. The little rice portion was mushy and overcooked.
Food is neither original Korean or anything else. It is bland, soggy, overpriced, and too little food for too much money.
What annoyed me: I had to write the order and take care it reaches the waiter. Nobody helped to understand the ordering process or to answer questions about the food. They only came after ringing a bell. I had to get up several times to ask questions. Technically, that saves also money and work. The chairs and tables look rather cheap. Not comfortable to sit on them, but maybe they don’t want you to stay for longer.
The overall costs must be very low (little amount of food, waitress does not stop on her own to give advice) to ensure a maximum profit. Yes, the staff was friendly, kind. But if I have to pay that much, I want to feel full and not leave hungry. If you go to Kimo around the corner, you can getter better vegetarian food.

Read moreThe food was really delicious, we ordered a few different things and shared it with each other which I think is perfect if you want to try a bit of everything. I especially liked the Korean Fried Chicken, since as a vegetarian I was never able to try it before, and it was soooo good! The drinks were also really delicious.
I really liked the athmosphere. it felt like a street market which in combination with the presentation of the food had an overall cool amd young vibe.
The ordering and service system is a nice idea and especially for people who have anxiety or problems with approaching a waiter it can be much easier to order and pay for food. Though, I have to say that we had to press the button like 5 times and waited 20mins to pay for our food because everytime we rang another table rang right after us and we were kind of forgotten since our number vanished from the lightboard that shows which table number just rang. I don't know if the waiters have another way of also seeing past numbers somewhere, but if not then maybe they should, so tables won't be overseen. Because overall the system is still a good idea.
The waiters were nice though and had a good energy that...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious vegan food! Our favourites were Japchae, Doenjang soup and Rest stop potato. But the dessert exceeded all our expectations. We ordered Mango Bingsu and it was absolutely fantastic! I’m not sure if it was with Matcha ice cream as mentioned in the menu (for me it tasted more like vanilla ice cream), but this dessert is definitely worth trying it and next time I will visit kkokki loves vegan, I will 100% order it again. Staff was also friendly. The only thing that didn’t really work - the bell. Every time we used the button, nothing happened and we had to catch a waiter to order or ask a question. But it’s just a small detail. Generally I’m happy that such great vegan places exist and I can totally recommend to visit Kkokki loves vegan in Hamburg. Btw we read the story about how this restaurant was founded and it is...
