La Quesadilla — Restaurant in Hamburg

Ich bin Mexikaner, und dieser ist nicht eine echte Mexikanisches Restaurant und das Essen ist nicht gut! Aus kein Fall kann ich als Mexikaner dieser Lade empfehlen.

As a mexican I cannot in good faith leave a good review here. This is not real mexican food. I ordered the Pollo Chipotle Enchilada and was a big disappointment. The quality of the tortillas that they use is subpar is not like in any other restaurants, and for the price it is outrageous. 15€ for an enchilada when in other restaurants like Jim Burrito you pay 8/9€. I was expecting chicken marinated in a chipotle sauce, but no, it is just chicken but they drizzle some chipotle sauce on top. Also It was nothing like an enchilada, enchiladas in Mexico do not come with rice, or salad and side of beans. The side of beans was miniscule, the only tasty thing on the plate, and probably came from a can. The salad was meeee and supposedly came with Guacamole, more like some chunks of avocado. The worst part was the rice, if it was supposed to be a mexican rice, that was bad, really bad. Oily, bland not a tomato sauce rice like in mexico or with any vegetables. It was badly reheated, and mine was even very, very undercook, still crunchy. I even mentioned it to what seems to be the owner and he agreed, but didn't react, not even a drink on the house or a discount on the bill. Nothing. After speaking with him it was clear that the guy was not Mexican, south american yes, but no Mexican and that is reflected on the food.

We were at Kaiserslautern before where quite a lot of authentic mexican restaurant used to take place. After coming to Hamburg, we tried a lot of mexican restaurant here and started to think that Hamburg is not the place for good mexican dishes. But yesterday my impression has changed. Its the place where I have tasted best mexican food ever. Although, I heard their pulled beef is famous, we tasted pulled chicken and it was so soft and with an even layer of amazing spices that we were simply blown up! I have ordered some of their house production of chicken in anana combined with coconut milk and it was more than perfect! Max was so friendly that he told us how he makes the exotic hot oil (elgordito), the story behind colorful nachos where artificial colors are not added and rather originated from specially grown corns. My husband is vegetarian, Max was happy to make vegetarian flauta for him. Max also offered us his special pinacolada cake to taste. It was simply out of this world! We were already so much filled up , otherwise we wish that we could have ordered it more! It is a nice garden restaurant surrounded by lots of greenery. Very nice place for enjoying with friends, family and romantic occasions. I simply love this place and will definitely miss it after...

I tried to let the experience at your restaurant sink away, but the toilet situation stayed in my head and therefore I wrote the review now. Quite late I admit, and I apologize for that.

However, it doesn't alter the factor that you guys put the ingredients fridge near the toilet. I also think that if you let the toilet situation happens once and dont have any memories of it, it means that hygiene is unimportant to you and I am truly concerned for your future guests and your business.

The restaurant is quite small inside. If you are there on a good day then sit outside. Inside is pretty dark and seating is tight.

Food is just so so, not impressive. This judgement might be negatively influenced by a factor though. Their toilet is in the basement, and it was stinky. There was also water overflowing everywhere on the floor. There was even a fridge for fresh vegetables right near the toilet entrance. It still brings be shivering thinking about it. In terms of hygiene it is unacceptable, and therefore we didn't come back ever since.

We visited this restaurant a long time ago and therefore situation here can be (hopefully)...
