Patisserie Madeleine is a cozy neighborhood café located in a very calm area.
We were 6 people (vegan and non-vegan) who went here for breakfast, we were all happy afterwards. Bread and other baked goods (almost all of which I managed to miss in my photos) were of high quality, the omelette/scrambled eggs was well-cooked (if a tiny bit undersalted, but that is easy to adjust at the table), and the pancakes (American-style) were fantastic, probably the best I've had. The cheeses for the "Käsefrühstück" were nice and flavorful, no strange margarine cheeses on the plate.
Prices were quite decent, my half of the company paid 44 Euro for 3 breakfasts (pancakes, cheese platter+bread, omelette+bread), two coffees and an extra croissant. I've gotten a lot lower quality for the same price per person or sometimes more. Note that drinks are not included in the listed prices for the breakfasts.
While there was not a ton of room for kids (we got one chair for our son, but didn't see any others, and the physical space is a bit limited), there was a diaper changing table in the womens' restroom, which with the proximity to a playground makes it a quite ok place to go with kids (depending on the kid, naturally).
It got a bit loud indoors in spite of not so many people, probably they could improve that with some sound absorption in the ceiling or similar.
Overall very happy...
Read moreThis is a charming neighbourhood café. The service staff was extraordinary – very welcoming and friendly. We took a table in the front room, which was very nice and bright. However, when it comes to the food we were not fully satisfied and the experience was very much what you would expect from a traditional old school German café. We ordered different types of croissants and coffee. The croissants seemed handmade and were drained in butter and very heavy. On the good side: the croissants were good value for money if you would rate the amount of butter they spend, but the croissant did not resemble the slightest croissants as you would find them in France. They also had an interesting slightly acidic flavour, which we could not quite place. The coffee was also not what we expected from a cafe with a French name I am afraid. The taste was not bad, but did not resemble speciality coffee or what you would get in a French café or even average bar. The other customers seemed very content, so as always it's a...

I ordered a salad that was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. However, I personally found it a bit on the sweet side, which made it slightly overwhelming toward the end. I also tried the cinnamon roll, which had a nice taste, though it didn’t feel very fresh.
The staff was kind and attentive. Service was quick , which made the experience good. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy a meal or dessert in a calm and pleasant setting....
