Tomo Sushi — Restaurant in Hanover

Tomo Sushi is one of my favorite Asian (Sushi Japanese ) restaurants in Hanover, Germany. I am very grateful to know this small piece of gem and would highly recommend this place for others for the following reasons:

High quality authentic food with fresh ingredients the consistency of quality and taste bz TOMO is top notch. I went by accident to TOMO with a friend, and now it has become one of my favorite 5 restaurants in Hannover Germany.

Very friendly service The lady who is serving is not a native German speaker but you can feel that she is so warm and is trying her best to make her guests feel comfortable.

Great atmosphere and everything is clean and well taken care of. I visited the restaurant with my husband on Valentine's Day and we had a wonderful time. Not only is TOMO a good place to go when you want to have good food, but also for special occasions, it is highly recommendable.

All the dishes in the menu are perfectly cooked I see most of the people ordering the sushi boat. On the contrary, I ordered appetizers such as dumplings called Gyoja, Kimchi, main dishes - Tempura Yudon noodles, Eel fish dish, and sushi as well as an orange ice cream for dessert. Not one dish was disappointing, it was actually shocking to see how perfectly everything was cooked and presented.

Even when it is very busy, food was served in a timely manner

Honest restaurant owners I was trying to order another dish when the owner advised me that it could be too much, so I could reconsider, he was right, and I was thankful for his recommendation

The restaurant is a bit on the pricer side, but given the quality of the dishes, it is well deserved.

It could get busy on special occasions, so remember to call them to make a reservation in advance.

Also, parking is possible, but it could be tough to find at times. But the public transportation (such as bus) is also well-connected.

Anyway, we had a great time at TOMO, and I look forward to visiting...

This is fxkin wonderful place to experience sushi!😭😭💕💕 I‘m from korea and I seriously love sushi. I‘ve even went Japan sevral times because of SUSHI!!! And I was soooo sad when I came to Hannover, because I cannot find delicious sushi in anywhere😔 But I wasted my whole year because I’ve never been here🤦🏻‍♀️ And you know what? You don‘t have to go to Japan, if you want to eat ‘perfect Sushi‘. Do not waste your plane ticket and just come here. Then you can eat amazing sushi!!!!! It‘s super awsome. You have to thanks to god because you live in Hannover so you can eat this god‘s present...! I haven’t traveled whole Germany so I cannot say this is the best sushi in Germany, but I can swear to god this is the best sushi in Hannover. I ate nigiri set and it was “DOPE”! I felt festival in my mouth...🎉😭💕 If you do not come here even you live in Hannover? Then you’re wasting your life.

정말로 솔직하게 말해서 독일 초밥에 너무 실망을 해왔던 터라 동생이 여기 맛있다고 같이 먹으러 가재도 독일 초밥이 거기서 거기지... 하는 생각에 기대 없이 갔었습니다. 그런데 초밥이 나오는 걸 보니 비주얼부터 아 이건 독일 초밥이 아니구나 하는 생각부터 들더군요. 보기에도 진짜다 싶었던 초밥들은 저를 배신하지 않았습니다. 하노버에서 1년 반 살았는데 왜 여기를 이제서야 알았는지 억울한 수준이에요. 정말 맛있습니다. 초밥 먹고싶을때마다 맛없는 초밥 주워먹고 살던 제 1년 반이 보상받는 기분이었어요. 연어부터 참치까지 하나도 빠짐없이 맛있구요, 제가 독일에서, 그것도 하노버에서 제대로 된 단새우를 먹을 수 있으리라고는 생각도 못했습니다. 하노버에서 초밥 드시고 싶으시면 다른데 가서 돈낭비 하지 마시고 여기...

Tomo Sushi is excellent if you are looking for real and authentic homey Japanese food. This cozy family restaurant is run by a nice couple, a Japanese man and a Korean woman.

Tomo is a great lunch spot with many nice special lunch options. We had the sashimi and nigiri lunch set (#4), and it was excellent. Unsurprisingly, the nigiri was made correctly like in Japan with wasabi between the fish and rice.

There are many donburi dishes on the menu that I hope to try sometime as well as small dishes like at an izakaya. I really liked and recommend the chicken karaage and kimchi.

The decor inside the restaurant reminds me of a restaurant in the countryside of Japan with manekineko, tanuki, wooden wall menus in Japanese, and more. It's certainly a cozy spot when you want real...
