My girlfriend and I went here to try their ramen, she had the vegan one and I the one with miso and chicken broth. We also ordered the Tofu Gyoza. Interestingly enough, neither her nor I could taste any tofu, so we decided to do some digging. In the two pieces that we looked at we couldn't find anything that resembled tofu in the slightest, so even if there was actual tofu inside the quantity must have been so small that you couldn't find or taste it. For 5 Euro for 5 pieces that's pretty shameless. We added pictures for reference.
On to the ramen. The ramen that I had was so flavourless that I ended up asking for extra miso because even though the ramen was advertised as a miso/chicken broth, you could neither taste the miso nor the chicken broth. Instead, it had a weirdly sweet taste to it? The actual chicken didn't taste great either. My girlfriend said her ramen was okay, albeit nothing special.
The service was okay, and the guy who waited us seemed apologetic. But if you come here to have ramen and you know what ramen usually tastes like, you'll be pretty disappointed which seems to be the consent with other reviews. Avoid this place if you're looking for...
Read moreIf one were to offer such a bad service intentionally, it would require a good amount of creativity. For me personally it was the worst restaurant experience I ever had in Heidelberg: half an hour until we were allowed to order tea arrived semi cold one meal contained hair another meal came without tofu upon requiring about the missing tofu we were told "sorry we run out of tofu today" upon commenting that it would have been nice to be informed about the main ingredient (besides noodles) not being available (and thus being able to make another choice) we were told "it would have been just a tiny slice anyway".
Apparently, the service staff never spared a thought on - or were told - what it takes to do the job rudimentarily well. Restaurant was full but there were plenty of staff, with all but one...
Read moreWe dined here as an Asian family. As we entered, no one even entertained us. We tried to get a table but they said they didn’t have space for us, but happily entertained the Germans. We spoke with them in German too, so I don’t see the problem there. We waited 40 minutes for a table. When we finally got a table and ordered, the order took more than an hour and a half to arrive. On the contrary, the Germans, who had arrived later than us, had already been served. I don’t see any other possible reason for the difference in treatments between us and the other customers. Really disappointed that an establishment like this would treat us differently because we’re Asian. The staff were extremely rude to us and tried to turn us away immediately at the door. They got our orders wrong too. Racist establishment. Do...
